Nice lip on the edge, good firm spring. They work really well.

I had a tea spoon that was hinged on the side that wore out after about 40 years of usage. This style requires you to squeeze the spring in the middle of the handle and hold it while trying to fill it or clean it and the spoon does not open completely. It is difficult to open, hard to fill and almost impossible to clean. I guess I'll have to keep looking for a replacement. In the meantime, I've gone back to using a strainer set in the top of the cup. This was a waste of money.

It's hard to open but work well once you get the tea in. Great for brewing one cup of tea at a time. I'm not sure I would order again.

I came across this at a hotel in Sri Lanka and liked the tapered shape which is great for scooping tea leaves from the jar. It’s also good when using smaller mug. This makes it better than the round ball tea makers. I’m glad to have found this on Amazon. It arrived on time and is good quality.

I've used one of the these tea infusers for years. They are the easiest to fill, use and clean of all infuser types I've seen. My old one still works very well. I recently gave one to my sister-in-law as a token gift and it was well received. No small wonder after she used a ball screw-on type infuser and a ceramic type infuser that steeps tea in the top part of a cup. I can't figure out why the spring-loaded spoon type infusers aren't more widely available.

This is perfect for making one cup of tea. I used to have a spoon similar to this, but the spring mechanism broke after a few years of use. So far this one seems pretty sturdy. My old spoon was not pointed at the end, like this one is, and I find that the point makes it easier to scoop tea out of the canister without having to use a separate spoon. The holes are a good size and don't let a lot of detritus escape, which is good.

This is a great little spoon if your loose tea doesn't have teeny particles to it and you don't like your strong. Neither of those apply to me, but the spring is solid as long as you're fairly gentle with it. I imagine one of my friends will adore it.

This is a good product if used correctly. First of all, it holds just enough loose tea leaves to make an 8-ounce cup of tea or smaller. If you want a product that will make good, strong tea in a 12- or 20-ounce cup, buy a mesh infuser spoon or a mesh infuser ball, they usually have a larger capacity.Second of all, it is important to not overfill the spoon with tea -- don't just jab it blindly into your tea canister open and pull it out closed. Squeeze open the spoon and use it to scoop out one side level, not heaping, with tea leaves. This is important because the leaves need room to expand once they're in hot water (if you have stuffed the infuser spoon with tea, the pressure of the expanding leaves will push open the spoon and release loose tea leaves into your cup). When you have a level spoonful on one side, you can release to close the spoon.Third, once the spoon is closed, tap it gently on the edge of your tea canister to release loose leaves that are stuck between the spoon halves. This will also minimize the amount of leaves that escape into your brew. Because of the size of the holes in this spoon infuser, you will inevitably end up with some crumbs of tea leaves in your cup. If you will be annoyed by this, you should instead purchase a mesh infuser or tea pockets (disposable tea filter bags that you fill yourself).I love making and drinking tea, and I find this infuser spoon to be more elegant than mesh tea balls, more practical than decorative tea balls, more eco-friendly than DIY teabags, and more convenient than brewing up an entire pot when I'm taking a tea break.
