Don't know why I had to have this. Bags in my house usually empty too fast. But we tested it and it works well... just in case we ever need it! It's large and heavy, so perhaps a smaller, hand-held battery operated one would be the smarter choice unless you're an avid "prepper."

So far I’ve sealed about 3 dozen small pouches of seeds from my garden. This heat sealer is fast and efficient. So far in my use of it O can’t think of a complaint. Would order again but I doubt I’ll need to.

This has been a game changer when I'm shipping things out with recycled poly bags or bubble mailers. I used to staple or tape them shut so I could re-use the bags and it wasn't the end of the world but it's a waste of materials and time! I picked this bad boy up for about $30 and would never go back. It's super easy to plug in and use in seconds. It hardly ever gets messy, but when some of the plastic melts onto the copper strip, I just let it cooldown for 30 minutes or so and then wipe it off with my finger or a damp cloth. I'd highly recommend this machine for anyone that is shipping things out with recycled bags like me or wants to seal up other stuff in a similar manner.
