The 7x Rio flouro tippet I got was old and significantly degraded. I needed it on a very tough technical river and the material failed. All tippets need to be fresh from the factory and stored away from light and heat. I know of no way to determine the date of manufacture but there should be dates clearly marked on the spool.

I have used this material in the past and its reliable and high quality. The 5x is versatile and my go to length is 9 foot. Amazon does a great job packing the product and the shipping could be a little faster but it was free so really can't complain. I would highly recommend this product to others and will continue to use the RIO brand for years to come.

It says it's a three pack, but in reality it's a one pack. That's a completely different pack. they give you the wrong kinda pack.
