When I use this product, I typically take my blood pressure before and after a session. Each time my blood pressure is lower after use. That said, it does take consistency, but so much better than taking medication. If you keep with it, you will get results - stress does not vanish overnight and it 100% WILL NOT work if you don't use it!!

Item works as described. I had a replacement unit fail outside of my warranty period but the company came through and replaced it. Great customer service!

I bought the $300 device and the $40 case. It stayed by my bed; I took excellent care of it. I enjoyed the “low fi” feel of it and found the sessions relaxing. After 15 months the screen just went kaput. I replaced the batteries twice. For such a pricey item, the poor build quality is unacceptable. I won’t be purchasing this. For MUCH cheaper there are apps with breathing exercises or free YouTube videos.

I have had the device for almost three weeks and use it daily. When working properly, I find it very relaxing and helpful to wind down the day. I don’t know how it does with lowering blood pressure but deep breathing is a great way to relieve stress and improve your mental health. For the first two weeks the device worked great but for the past week, it has been impossible to adjust the belt. It continuously repeats tighten the belt or loosen the belt over and over. Even when I don’t tighten the belt a second later it will say loosen the belt. It is so frustrating and no longer relaxing. For a $400 piece of equipment, you’d think they’d invest in a sturdier strap that works appropriately. I will be returning this and wait for them to improve the quality before ordering again.

Hi all: Mine is a very important review for anybody who cares about radiant health and living a long life. In taking the time to write a long review, I am trying to help everybody out there because the data I've complied is compelling. As of a few months ago, I had never heard of Resperate. Now I have got to be its most vociferous supporter. Indeed, I have been very careful to attach three android screen shots of the recent activity in what is called my HRV Variability index, which I track carefully because it's a sign of radiant health. The higher the HRV reading, the better. I am 62 years of age and unfortunately developed high blood pressure two years ago: I collapsed at one point with a 190/100 incident. No herb was able to control the hypertension once it started and the medication only worked partially. My father had hypertension in his 30s and I guess it's genetic. I developed this disease even though I exercise with an intensity that is akin to a professional athlete, with two hours per day of cross-fit training that is very intense: often involving a 300 lb. bench press and ten 100 yard sprints after an hour on the Peloton. Nonetheless, the blood pressure medication has been worrying me (I like herbs and hate medication), so my wife (nearly 30 years younger than me and a very special caring influence on my life) purchased Resperate for me a couple months ago. Surely I had my doubts about this product. How could it possibly work? It isn't diet. It isn't exercise. It isn't anything. Boy was I wrong. The Resperate experience has changed my life and the attached screen shots prove it because they can neither be "faked" nor otherwise made up. If one simply listens to the voice instructions and the guiding tone for about 12 minutes five times a week then what is going to happen, in my view, is not only that his or her blood pressure problem will improve but his or her heart will become much stronger. And it will happen quickly. Just look at the screen shots. At 62 years of age, my HRV variability has gone from the 40s and 50s (which is normal for my age) to the 60s and 70s (which is like a youngster). And it has happened in just a couple months. This means that I have the ability to handle any stress that might attack my body just as a healthy teenager could handle it. Now here's the important point: I've always exercised just like I'm exercising now. But my HRV never reacted like this. It's the Resperate that's making the difference. I tested this concept by actually measuring HRV Variability DURING a Resperate session and the HRV has always gone off the charts. The reading of 72 shows this (see the second screenshot) but I've done it on a few other occasions and the same thing happens. Because I am obsessed with radiant health, I then did significant independent research and examined the clinical Resperate studies. There is only one possible conclusion: Resperate is essentially a very efficient form of meditation that is more efficacious than regular meditation -- even transcendental meditation. I am not just guessing about my conclusions. I have actually studied the breathing and intellectual/mind methods used in both, and Resperate's breathing and process is less hindering/more "freeing," and the activity associated with Resperate has proven more effective for me. If anybody reading this review cares deeply not just about their hypertension but also about radiant health, they would seriously consider incorporating Resperate into their life knowing full well that a stronger heart and better blood pressure control will result. By the way, I am nearly off the medication and will stop taking it altogether in October! Good luck and a sincere wish of radiant health to all.

I've always had normal blood pressure, but now I'm in my early fifties. At my recent annual, my pressure was elevated, and the doctor told me to keep an eye on it. I bought a home bp monitor, and sure enough, my pressures were often elevated -- sometimes high, sometimes normal. At their worst, they were often around 140/90. I knew I had to get them under control, but wanted to avoid medication if possible. Since I was already a normal weight, and I already exercised daily and tried to eat well, I wasn't sure what other life-style changes to make. I tried acupuncture weekly for almost two months, but there were no lasting changes. I was starting to think I would need to try medication when I saw an ad for resperate.Resperate has brought my pressures down to within the normal range. It did take regular use for nearly four weeks before I began to see the difference, so be sure to give it time. I think some people see a faster response, but that was definitely not true for me. I also have been using it daily rather than four or five times per week. From looking at the information on the resperate website, it looks as though there is a dose-related response -- using it more is better. In addition, it is easier to make something a habit when one does it every day at the same time.I did wonder how much "value added" the device offered over an app, for example, but I will say that when I started using resperate, I was breathing incorrectly. The device had to prompt me a fair amount the first few times I used it. Although I am not sure what the "magic ingredient" is in breathing exactly this way, I'm not sure that I would have achieved the same benefit from a different guided exercise. Though I agree it is expensive, it is cheap compared to ongoing medication -- and there are no negative side effects. It's portable enough to take with you nearly anywhere. Since I purchased it, I have used it on airplanes and trains. It isn't difficult to work into one's daily routine, and is especially nice to use lying down getting ready to go to sleep. As other reviewers have noted, it does make one sleepy to use it.Could I simply breathe in this way without the device? Yes, I suppose so. But I like that the machine makes sure I am breathing at the right pace and depth. If I tried slow breathing without the feedback the machine gives, I might be likely to slide into doing it poorly. Using the device daily means that I know for sure I have done the exercises the correct way, and for the correct amount of time.Overall, I am very impressed with this device. High blood pressure is a serious problem that can have significant effects. Blood pressure medication can come with dangerous side effects. To have discovered a non-medication tool to control blood pressure is wonderful! I am very grateful for this product.

deffinately works to lower blood pressure however if it breaks down, as mine did, there is no support for it in the UK therefore I had no choice but to return it and get my money back. I've bought Breathing Ripples CD for £6 which works just as well

I used Resperate for about 2 months. It is effective for me (combined with other things). The device main function is to change one's breathing pattern. It has a small detector with light elastic strap placed over the diaphragm AND earphones playing music and telling you when to breath IN and OUT. It measures your breathing per minute (BPM) and through the quiet music with specific rhythm/instructions decreases your BPM to about 5-6 (at the end of the session). My BPM was initially 14-15, during the use it slowly decreases it to 10 and from there starts the `Therapeutic zone' which takes about 15 minutes and ends with BPM 5. This way each session is about 15-20 minutes. Usually one needs a session every second day. It is relaxing and gradually applies longer breathing-out periods. I used Resperate together with weight reduction and various vitamins with Omega 3 (no other medications). Initially my blood pressure was varying 160-175 to 95-100. After a month it was varying 130-145 to 80-85. After each Resperate session I noticed my Blood pressure (systolic) dropped with about 10-15 mm Hg. However a friend using the same Resperate had his Blood pressure RAISED with 10-15 mm Hg after each session. It appeared that his initial (normal) BPM was 5-6 and the device was actually giving him breathing directions to increase his BPM to 10 and after this slowly decrease it to 5... From this limited experience I think that if one measures (roughly) his BPM and it is above 12, one would have bigger chance to have positive effect from Resperate. However if one's BPM is less than 7-8, one would have lesser change to benefit from Resperate. I hope this brief reflection could be useful to others - I did not find such description when I intended to buy the device - Resperate is very expensive for what it is (as electronic device it would hardly cost more than 50 USD plus another 50 for the idea - i.e. it must be at least half its price)... BTW using the device `For two users' is useless as it can not be used simultaneously, just memorises your previous BPM (what one can write on paper...).

I received my Resperate exactly one month ago today and have been using it regularly since then. I am doing about 10 fifteen minute sessions a week. I had stopped my medication about two weeks befor because of unbearable side effects. My diastolic pressure befor using the Resperate was 160 - 180. Now it is between 130 and 145 so I am very pleased and optomistic. My GP is happy for me to give the Resperate a good chance to work befor we decide if I should try medication again. I really enjoy my time on the Resperate and feel so refreshed and relaxed afterwards. I have experienced more restful sleep as well. So far a very satisfied customer.

Having had an ANS problem for some time now, and after talking to my physician, I purchased Resperate to help me better regulate my blood pressure and breathing pattern/rate. I've only used it a handful of times so far, and thus can't really comment on the blood pressure control side of things, but I can definitely say that becoming aware of one's breathing and gradually relaxing and lowering it the breathing rate; stress seems to just melt away.... After using this product I felt calm, centred and energetic for hours! I would definitely recommend this to a friend!
