I got this thermostatic outlet plug from Mocreo. I have two likely uses for this. The first is in a 3D printer cabinet. I plan to have this control an exhaust fan to power if the temperature inside gets too hot. I may occasionally use this (or get another) for my indoor seed starting "greenhouse" tent for a similar purpose: to have a fan blow air if it's too warm. I might also just have it control the seedling heat mats to turn them off. This is a nicely made piece. It has a long cord to a temperature sensor. I don't think I really need that length, but it may come in handy for some. I did find that the sensor changes temperature measurements slowly. I held it in my hand and raised the temperature to 90+ and it took several minutes for it to read the room temperature. The thing I don't like about this is that it requires not only their custom iOS/Android app to control it, but you have to sign up for an account (and verify with a legit email address). Once I did that it paired quickly to the device. I did try pairing it to my Smart Life app but to no avail. I wish that were possible so I could control it with my other smart devices.I did discover a known defect in their iOS app. If I switched from heating mode to cooling mode it would not allow me to save. It kept alerting me that the temperatures had to be in a specific range (I believe -40 to 221 F). It was nice and easy to open a ticket with their customer support within the app and upload a screen shot of the error. Within a day I had an email explaining how to work around the problem (you have to enable the buzzer feature and then disable it and it will then work properly). It does make a noticeable "click" when turning on and off, but so do all my other smart outlets.I'm okay with this. I would really prefer it to be compatible with Smart Life, or at least not require an account with their app. It seems to be working as intended. Now I just need to get it built into my cabinet.

This is a well-designed temperature regulated switch. It's simple to use, simple to set up and I appreciate that the app is stand-alone and doesn't collect any information or require an internet connection.Simple plug the switch into a standard outlet and position the temperature sensor in the region to be temperature regulated. Download the app and connect via Bluetooth to the device. The simple menu allows me to turn the alert system off/on, set high/low temps, set an alarm and/or snooze the alarm. It is rated up to 1100 W/10A and can be used on both 110 and 220V current systems. The app allows me to set on/off levels that are temperature dependent. It's especially good for animal habitats that cannot exceed a predetermined temperature level and I can also choose to activate a 90 db alarm as a warning if my hot/cold temperatures are exceeded.Bottom Line: Excellent app that doesn't collect any information, is easy to use and provides me with excellent control over the operation of the temperature controlled switch. The switch itself works well and the temperature probe connects to the switch with an almost 5' long cable. Works on 110/220V and is a great little device

**Edited to add; it held the temperature successfully for the four weeks I needed it in my brooder and I'm extremely happy with its performance** I am using this thermostat to control the temperature in a small enclosed chick brooder that is heated by a 50 watt halogen light bulb. The sensor is on an amply long cord, allowing me to place the sensor where I need it and in the couple days I've been using it, has been keeping the temperature acceptably close to the parameters I set for it. The alarm is described as "loud" but I found that I couldn't hear it if I weren't nearby (the alarm in on the device and not on the app.) This really is no issue for me since I don't need the alarm and have disabled it in the app.The sensor came with a detailed manual. The app was not as easy to figure out. I was able to quickly pair the controller with the app, but it kept indicating the controller was unavailable or "Unknown." After removing and re-installing the controller in the app, I figured out that all I need to do is click the "Reload" button in the lower right corner of the main display of the app. Setting the low and high temps wasn't difficult but the print was so small on my cell phone, I had to use the magnify feature of the phone to view the settings and make sure they were what I want them. Also, the app often loses connection to the controller even if I keep the app open on my phone, but it hasn't appeared to affect the function of the controller itself, and all I have to do is hit that reload button.Overall, I'm pleased with the performance thus far of this controller.

I hate that it requires yet another app. I did not realize there was no other way to control it and would not have purchased it if I had. That said, looking back on their description, they tried to make that clear, and I didn't want to downgrade them unfairly. So I went and looked up their app and installed it. What happens next? They require an email and password...you have to create an account with them in order to do anything at all with the hardware you just bought. You must give them an email - you can't even just create a name (like "home") and a password I gave them a temp email address and even THAT wasn't enough - they required verification that the email was valid. All just to use hardware. I declined. That was never mentioned in their description! Sorry, but for me that was the last straw. I've deleted the app and I have no idea how this thing actually works to control heating because what I need is hardware that reacts to temperature not fiddling with unnecessary intermediary software. (Plus I don't upgrade my phone as is apparently the norm...the app will soon fail - most likely long before the hardware). It has potential...the sensor is solidly attached to the cord, the cord snaps snugly into the main housing, and is 5 feet end to end. For me, it is useless.
