I wanted something for the kids so they can play with sand box in the back yard. It seems like a good toy to them and they are happy with it.

I gave this to my 5 1/2 yr old grandson for Christmas…it was the hit of the day!! He (and his dad, lol) loved all the functions and how like real life it is. Recommend!

This RC is fun for kids because the body of the excavator turns as well as the boom and bucket which you can control to actually dig. The bucket is made of metal so pretty durable. However, we ran into issues with the boom not wanting to flex/extend after a few weeks of using it. The rest seems to work well but the fun part for kids is the actual digging part so that is the reason for 3 stars. It otherwise seems to be made pretty well and we have had no issues. It is easy to charge and replace the batteries.

I purchased this as a fun toy gift for a family member. 5)3 build quality is very good. It’s very easy to use and lots of fun for anyone. I am actually thinking of getting one more.

This toy is amazing for my son. He plays with it everyday. It moves flawlessly and the battery lasts longer than I thought it would. The remote control is easy to use. It has enough power to pick up dirt and sand. Great design and a great value for the money. Very happy!

The toy looks impressive. It's not metal but a strong plastic. It's smaller than I expected based on the pictures.The remote has a ton of controls on it but that's because the excavator has a lot of movement going on! The arm, the caterpillar treads, the cab rotation... This thing does a lot. Having said that this is too complex for a 6 year old unless they're just driving it back and forth. Try as I might I could not get our grandson to dig with the arm. It was just too complex. He'll enjoy it maybe next year or so but for now it's just a big truck - and he's ok with that part. :)This is also underpowered. Yes it is a toy but even then it can't dig in anything except exceedingly loose sand. No dirt, definitely NOT mud. He also had no patience for how slowly it moved across terrain. The excavator handles it well due to the treads but it takes FOREVER to move.Overall? Good toy. Not great. Maybe 8+ for age.

They excavator is a great little RC toy, and the bucket is indeed metal, but the controls are remarkable simple, and the arm really could have used some extra control to it. All you can do is play out a basic digging animation in either forward or reverse, but you cannot adjust the depth you wish to dig, nor do you have control of the boom beyond playing the animation. The excavator does have functioning lights, a motor compartment you can open, and it plays some of the most ungodly sounds you could imagine a cheap speaker to play, though you can disable that part. My main point of concern is the mechanism for turning the cab, because mine doesn't like to turn left. It usually just clicks until I turn it right and try again, but it usually only takes 2 tries to get it working.Overall, it's a fun toy with very simple controls that would be great for any young child, or for any adult with the heart of a child, but it may not last very long.
