Even the smallest fingers can easily cover PRECORDER's tone holes because, unlike other pre-recorder style instruments, PRECORDER has raised tone holes. A small lip around each hole makes it easier for each finger to seat properly.

This is like a song flute or a tonette in size and, more importantly, fingering of notes. Be advised that if your child uses this first the F note in the first octave is totally different if your child is using a baroque recorder, and the upper D is a different fingering too. But it is a n8ce sounding instrument as long as you realize it's limitations.
