Easy Access to a Hard-to-Reach Pin
Two punches, one simple solution to the difficult to access bolt catch retaining pin. The orientation of the pin, close proximity to the lower receiver, distance required to safely punch a pin and the difficulty in getting the pin started makes it a real pain with standard punches. Our simple solution is specially designed to fit flush against the receiver without damaging it and is long enough to reach the pin. It features a roll pin punch for removing pins and a magnetized roll pin starter punch that eliminates the need for a third hand. Smart, simple, frustration free.

I can't even say I dislike it. I love it. Best tool for the money. I wish I knew abiut this tool when I started projects. Even has a strong magnet to hold the pins.

These punches make removing and replacing the bolt catch pin so much easier than trying to use a regula punch. One trick that I learned is to use a piece of a round toothpick to hold the bolt catch in place when inserting a new pin. A MUST HAVE for DIY Gunsmiths !

Works as intended with ease. Tried to use my standard roll pin punch, and then other options, but failed. The right tool make all the difference!

Perfect for bolt catch roll pin. I would just have liked them to be brass or have a non marring coating on them. But, they do the job great, just remember to tape off around the bolt catch so you don't scratch your receiver. Every product I have from Real Avid (close to a dozen ,maybe more) has been too notch in design and use. I couldn't live without their bench blocks.

As other reviewers have noted, the thinnest punch may be very slightly bent (but still very useable). Mine was. And yet both punches worked like a charm, like most of what Real Avid makes. Got the job done easily, and will use them again in the future. The rust resistant, polished chrome plating is an added value.

I am not usually a fan of single-purpose tools, but this punch set made easy work of my bolt catch installation. I love how the one pin is recessed about a millimeter on the end so that the pin stays in place and lined up as you start to drive it in. I also like how one side of punches are "shaved off" allowing improved alignment of the tool. While I still mask the side of my receiver when working on it, the improved alignment helps minimize risk of marring/ damage of the receiver. This punch set is well worth the price. Secondary benefits include lower blood pressure, frustration, and cursing levels.
