Sensor is not sensitive enough to detect 100% natural gas or propane from 6" away. Only when placing the sensor within 1" of the source to force the sensor to saturate did it show any measurement at all. This still took approx 6 seconds to saturate at 1" distance. I would not trust this device with anyone's safety.

Ho testato il rilevatore di gas con il propano e anche con poca saturazione dell'aria dal gas, lo ha rilevato subito. Si può dire che è uno strumento abbastanza valido, sicuramente non professionale ma per un uso domestico oppure per camper (come lo ho testato e userò io) , o caldaia può andare bene; naturalmente è da verificare nel tempo se mantiene la precisione di rilevazione perché so per certo che i sensori con il tempo si deperiscono e non funzionano più.

Its a life saver,I was s.telling something, turns out was the pipe outside my window. So I'd recommend having this gadget. Easy to use ,turn it on and hold it still a half minute there's your reading. Nice case to store it in too.hard shell.

A few years ago, I notified the gas company of a smell around the outside gas meter where the gas line enters my house. They corrected the problem; however, ever since then I remained concerned about future leaks around gas line joints, etc. The PT520A+ works as advertised and most certainly quelled my concern about any gas leaks in or around my home. Small price to pay for peace of mind.

Ich habe es für dir Reparatur der Gastherme im Wohnmobil benötigt. Dafür ist der Sensor am Schwanenhals sehr gut geeignet. Praktisch ist auch der wiederaufladbare Akku.

Got this to troubleshoot a propane leak in my RV propane lines. After powering it up, it takes about a minute to calibrate (away from the problem area). The device found the problem immediately in the regulator. I bought a replacement, put it in and checked the system out afterwards.While in an RV park recently, we could smell propane gas on the front of the site. The long term site next to us was being emptied and there was an enclosed rental trailer there. I used this detector near the back door and it lit up. The person next door opened up the slide door and it rang higher. We let the gas dissipate, and found a grill inside that the knob had been pushed in and turned slightly. (Yeah, they should have shut the tank off before moving it but didnt). Well worth the cost.

My primary reason for purchasing this instrument was to find out where I was loosing propane in my Thor Sequence RV. It worked like a charm & helped me track down a leak in my regulator. The long neck was a must for my project as many/most of the line’s & regulator are under the RV & are hard to reach.

Tested this outdoors by cracking the valve on a small propane tank. It functioned exactly as it should. We are a family of DIY'ers and skilled tradesmen so it will be utilized well.There is one small detail to be aware of. The "low battery indicator" on the screen doesn't act as a battery level status monitor. As your using the devise, when the battery gets low, it will pop up on the screen in the upper right hand corner. It also appears briefly when powering on the unit.
