Your cart is empty. 🟢 Pliers open prongs of settings without pressure on the top of the stone. Pliers feature a thinner claw to get in behind prongs. The angle and length of the bottom jaw provide leverage to minimize damage to stones. The lower jaw is notched to securely grip the prong so that it doesn’t slip when opening. The claw is made to be filed to a fresh point as it wears.

Not sure if I had the right tool for my application, but I was trying to prey open some prong on a silver bracelet. It did not work for me.

Not sure how to review this - the tool worked very well as designed for several months, I was using it to deconstruct old jewelry for the metal value but wanted to remove the gemstones first. However, the prongs began to bend out of place and eventually the ends completely broke off. I think in retrospect, this can be fine for softer metals like gold, but will not survive over time if used on stiffer metals like sterling silver.
