Bought 2, beautiful product, seems like much better quality than the others, love the rubberized handle. The reviews that say that they leak is, unfortunately, the the case with both of mine. I just wrote to Prier customer service, and I will update this review with their response and solution.Update, a nice lady wrote back just a few hours later with some notes and a link to a very good short video of the two reasons it could leak. Mine leaked from behind handle, and the fix is just a 1/4 turn of the big nut. Now I'm back to being convinced this is the best one and the best looking one. I bought a selection because the first one I ordered was crap and I wasn't sure which of the new ones wouls arrive on time. My plumber never saw this one and asked for the link, and my picky - I mean discerning - wife loves the look. The rubberized knob is a great touch,

This silcock is well built and will last a long time. The quarter turn feature is great! Highly recommend. Installation to copper pipe water supply requires plumbing skills. If connection is to a threaded using flexible tubing, then installation is quite easy.

It "felt" sturdy, but turned out it was nothing close to it. The vendor indicated this was fairly typical of this type of product. To which I responded that if that was the case, they were selling an item with a KNOWN defect and simply responding to complaints with "it's a common defect with this type of item." For such an expensive item, you'd think you'd be getting a quality piece of merchandise. Far from it. Cheaply made, and an "oh well" for customer support. Save your money and find another vendor.

I purchased two of these for my leaking outside faucets. I used Shark Bite connectors, purchased a copper tube cutter (and it came with a cleaning tool to remove the cut debris from the edge so you don't puncture/rupture the rubber seals in the Shark Bites). I also added a turn off valve on each unit with ease. Just take your time and make sure you measure everything closely. Cleaning everything is also important (pipes, etc). I used a pipe cleaning tool inside and out to remove oxidation, etc. I think all in, it was about $150 for both with shut off valves. I was quoted $600 from a couple of plumbers for both front and back faucets! . Well worth my time (only about an hour total for both to replace). Two years later, no issues. No leaks. I do, however, use my shut off valves in the winter months and let the water drip out the slightly open faucets. I also keep them slightly open to let any additional water (if any) to leak out.

Works great as a 1/4 turn model, however, I notice a bit more leakage than other sillcocks. I have to make sure the valve is really closed tight, and it does feature anti-siphon so you will get water coming back after you shut-off the valve.

Great product - well made. Three year guarantee. Nice action. I bought two. Fast shipping from vendor Gatzies. I replaced some old cheapo frost free spigots. I did it myself. I watched an "how to un-solder pipes" video on youtube - plus a "how to solder pipes" video on youtube - and to be honest - I spent more time watching videos than it took to actually replace the faulty spigots. I am so happy with this purchase - now I can leave the irrigation system on without leaking from the old cheapo hose-bib spigot. Also - handle is big and grippy - easy to turn. I may buy another one just to take to bed with me.

While this outdoor hydrant costs more, the construction should make it economical in the long run. I purchased it to replace a cheap one with aluminum internal parts that had corroded and failed. This one looks to be made of better materials. In addition, parts should be easy to replace if and when needed. I anticipate many years of service from this faucet.Installation, in my case, was easy. After turning the house's water supply off, I simply removed the old faucet, cleaned the old pipe joint compound from the old fitting, put new pipe joint compound on the threads and tightened it until it was both tight and properly aligned. After installing the two screws to hold the flange on the siding, I turned the water back on and tested for leaks. By doing this myself, I saved a lot of money. The house is built over a crawl space. A house with a basement would also be easy for do-it-yourself. However, slab construction might present problems. One thing I really like is the quarter-turn operation. The old faucet took multiple turns. This is much simpler. I have one other faucet on this house, and plan on replacing it with one of these Prier P-164D12 faucets eventually.
