*REQUIRES PPE HEAVY DUTY TRANSMISSION PAN 2280521XX COMPATIBLE FOR 2007.5-2021 DODGE/RAM 2500/3500 TRUCKS WITH 6.7L 68RFE TRANSMISSION (Raw 228052100, Brushed 228052110, and Black 228052120) PPE has designed a superior filter for the 68RFE transmission. This filter upgrade features an extended filter cup that houses 57% larger specially engineered 10-micron filtration media. We also take a step further and upgrade the factory plastic threaded adapter to a steel adapter. The anti-drainback valve is supported by a coil spring and equipped with a rubber seal to make sure of unidirectional flow. Like all our high performance filters, there is a magnet secured at the bottom which pulls metal debris out of the fluid. Compare these upgraded features to the stock OEM filter and you will understand that the PPE Premium High-Efficiency Transmission Fluid Filter 228052150 is your best choice for the best performance.

metal connection vs factory plastic much larger and internal magnet at the bottom to collect all the wear material should keep oil much cleaner

The filter was a good replacement ,It filters smaller particle than the one from Dodge. It is a bit pricey.

I used this with my 68rfe's BD diesel deep pan. I did have to clearance the inside along the side. On the BD pan it's already clearanced for the oem filter just continue along the same cut. Be careful not to cut through the pan. I also drilled the pan bolt holes out with a 5/16 bit to give a little more flexibility.
