Metal blast gates are the way to go. If you buy the plastic ones for cheaper, you’ll eventually be back here to buy the metal ones. The plastic ones will eventually clog with sawdust. The metal ones allow the saw dust to escape, and it’s not an issue.

Gonna try the fix listed in the comments by the Appliance Repair place. Otherwise, I’ll return them, as my plastic gates seal significantly better.Update: Added a star. The tip about filing down the manufacturing faults allowed me to fix the leakiness. I'm disappointed that these ship poorly finished, but the repair was pretty easy. Under 5 minutes per gate.

The frame is cast aluminum . The aperture slider is .055" thick mild steel and its painted Grey. The Gap between the Aluminum cast plates is .120". Making a very loose fit of .065".The problem is the casting has riser flash which causes the aperture to bind up. Of 20 gates I haved to fix 17. The repair is simple, You will need a sharp 8" Magicut file and a screw gun and a vise1. You remove the six screws. These screws are in very tight so use a Vise to hold the gate and a drill to remove the screws using a #2 flat blade tip. You will not get them out by hand.2. You will see 10 1/4" circles on each side. File them all flat/flush so that you can not feel them.3. Also file flat the edges where the screws go. You can totally eliminate this raised edge and sand the whole top flat. Doing so will decrease leakage. 4, Also the gate will get stuck closed if slammed shut. The Slider's right angle digs into the aluminum To fix this, file in each outer corner of the Slider plate 3/16" on the closed end only and make all edges smooth. A dremel with a cutoff wheel is excellent for this task.4. If you want to improve the sealing ability glue three -Five layers 8 Mill polyethylene plastic film to the top side only. keep glue away from the 4" hole edge.Make sure it lies flat. Use 3M #80 spray glue. Glue then cut the hole.Clean up any excess glue.6. Reassemble gates and test. The gate should operate when tilted to a 30° angle.Slam it closed and see if it sticks.Remember to never over tighten the black thumb screw.Never Lubricate the gates. It is a great gate once you fix these little things.

I highly recommend these units to restrict or allow air flow in a dust collection system. They are easy to use and stay open or closed with the simple thumb screw mechanism. They are easy to install, but you will need 4" clamps because they do not come with them, so make sure you have some or order some.
