bought these almost 8 years ago for a 2000 f350 with a 7.3, they worked flawlessly for many years to come and i was very happy with them. Fast forward to May 2021 i have a 2011 f250 6.2 CCLB and i bought the same breaks for it as i did before because i had a good experience, seems logical? Should have listened to the reviews cause quality control has gone down. the rotors looked slightly warped almost like they were not completely machined from factory, the breaks looked normal but were flaking off particles of the pad just from a rub with the finger. Now for the caliper that's a different story, the boots weren't attached to the caliper already which i remember the previous set i purchased was. The boots weren't pre-lubed with anything to prevent rot or dry out, the guide pins were sticky? that was a bit odd to me for something that is suppose to smoothly slide. I decided i would clean everything up and do dry test it to make sure it would function and it seemed to function correctly after a good cleaning and lube.December 12/16/21i get home from work and i smell a harsh smell of smoking breaks. i check my front breaks and see nothing and there is no abnormal heat coming from them. Go to the rears and my passenger side rear is so hot i can feel the head coming from a foot away. its been cooler here and im sure the cold temperatures have only prolonged the issue and kept it cool enough to a unnoticeable amount.Now im out 600$ for a full kit because powerstops warranty is garbage even if you have a professional install it to a T of the directions. Buy from Ford or at the least NAPA because these calipers are on grade with autozone or advanced just rebuilt repainted garbage. Rotors seemed nice but wont be able to find out due to the smoked rotor and pads. would rate negative if possible.
