These are a great set of pens for beginners. My husband is a wood turner but never did pens so I got these for him for Christmas and he really enjoys making them. I like them because I have arthritis in my fingers and theses are a little bigger on the bottom so they are perfect for me to write with.I would highly recommend!

I have used these pen blanks for years and made over hundred of them. I have never received a bad kit.

I have used these pen kits several times without a problem. The last set I bought had one pen that the mechanism doesn’t work correctly. The pen won’t twist up and down. I called the manufacturer to see if they could just send out a replacement mechanism. They said that they could not help because I bought through Amazon so have to go through Amazon customer service. I called Amazon and they want me to return the item which I can’t because it is in the pen that I made. They did eventually agree to refund 1/5 of the purchase price but that doesn’t make up for the blank that I used and the time and effort in making this pen that now is unusable.I only knocked it down 1 star because I’ve bought these kits 3 times and out of that had one that didn’t work.

These pens are much easier to do than the slim lines that most beginners are pointed to. Yes, they cost more than the slim lines, and there is nothing wrong with starting with slim lines. But these are so much easier because you leave more wood or acrylic around the tubes. They are easy to put together as well as looking good when you are finished. They also take less material to turn.

These have been a joy to work with and there really isn't anything i could complain about. Solid kit and you can definitely feel the quality in it. Would love to have a mass of these to work with and maybe will one day but my funds don't exactly allow me to do that. But you get what you pay for and quality isn't cheap so I'll to by them as i can!
