A small piece is already broken off... Most likely due to careless delivery... It's a minor issue, but it spoils the overall impression of the product. Otherwise, everything looks good. I'll update my review after the first use.

I'm pretty new to kayaks, and t 6'1" 180 lbs the previous 6 foot sit-on-top left me less than enthusiastic. When I mentioned this to my son (who is 6'5" and 220) he recommended I move up to tis 8 footer. Not only is it more stable, it's easier to propel. Very well made. I know some reviews were critical of its condition upon receipt, but we got this in 2 days in a rural lake community in perfect condition, and at it's price it's a bargain.

used a few times came with a dint in the back like a few reviews have shown. easy fix just hit it with a heat gun or hair dryer and it poped right back. be carful not to use to much heat

This kayak is so much fun. My 9 year old son purchased it instead of buying one of those smaller 6' kayaks that he would have outgrown next year and he absolutely loves it. His ONLY complaint about it is because it is so wide he bumps the paddle off the sides sometimes but I explained to him that it is wide so that it is more stable and he's perfectly fine with it.I do wish that there was some sort of net or something in the front cargo hatch as it can be easy to lose stuff inside but I'm sure I can rig something up for him.

This is my 1st sit on top Kayak...I've done numerous upgrades, new seat, pole holder... fish finder, and now I love it! Ok...this was a few years ago...and my 1st kayak...what i learned since then? This kayak is garbage, i sidnt know any better at the time...

Pelican has promised on multiple occasions to send replacement parts. I never hear back. There is also a small hole on top and they were going to send filler. There was no indication on the packaging that there would be damage. This was done prior to shipping before wrapping. This is a very bad way to run a business. All I ask is that you do what you say you will do. I’d like to be able to use the kayak so I can write a different review.

It is a very sturdy and comfortable kayak. I have had plenty of room for my tackle and rods. I just use a fish stringer and clip on the side of kayak to keep what I’ve caught. Very lightweight and easy to carry to get to water.

Kayak came undamaged. Very nice. Was as advertised. However its still to cold here so it might be another month before I get it into the water. I will give an update when I get it into the water. Also its made in Canada not China.

I received this kayak as a gift from my wife and kids. Overall, I really like the kayak. Handles well. Pretty stable, although I have been in more stable kayaks. Easy to fish out of. My only complaints ares that the rod holder that comes with the kayak is basically useless and there are no T-slots. The rod holder mount is too far forward for easy access and sits much too low to allow any fishing pole without an extremely short handle to be used (none of my poles would work). This would be OK if Pelican sold fishing rod holder extensions, but I searched aggressively and could not find any. I added a Yakattack T-slot to both sides of the kayak (would be nice if the kayak came with them) and added two Yakattack fishing rod holders (these are absolutely GREAT and highly recommended). The slots also allow for other attachments - tie down rings, fish-finder mount, transducer mount, camera/Go-Pro mount, etc. I'll never get another kayak without them. The additions cost me ~$100.Again, overall I really like the kayak, it is just missing some things that would make it awesome.

I have a JRT Dog that I run with, he loves it and when he goes over it doesn't offset the boat when I'm pulling him back in. And its very comfortable on long trips. Tracks very well. its one of the coolest 10ft kayaks I've paddled.
