Before I planned to trash my blown Paradigm PS-1200 subwoofer, I figured I'd try to replace the cone. My expectations were low, but this kit really worked! The sub works like new. I even stress tested it at higher than usual volumes to check if the adhesive will breakdown, but the sub did not rattle even once. Better yet... I have a lot of adhesive left to fix other stuff :-)

The product is of good quality and as described. I did not get the surround perfectly aligned on my 1st attempt. On the Paradigm PDR-12, the gasket is tight is to surround where if the surround is not placed "precisely" in the center of the cone/ frame with the cone perfectly aligned, the surround ends up being offset with respect to the frame and when the gasket is installed, it pushes the surround out of place. This is integral to the design of the speaker and is no fault of the replacement kit. I am a Mechanical Engineer who is also an above average mechanically oriented DIYer who has rebuilt jetski engines, automotive work, rebuilt hydraulic cylinders, fabricate with steel, etc. My point here is that this is intricate work that has to be done quickly and if the frame is bent, then that introduces a whole other issue for alignment. The following is why I rate this product low. When I ordered my 2nd kit, I needed the alignment shims for the speaker and the item did not provide a box to click or indicate how to instruct Springfield Speaker to include them in the order. I tried to call Springfield Speaker several times and after listening to a 2 minute message on them telling you a multitude of times that they are just a distribution warehouse and cannot answer technical questions or provide support, etc., you either get hung up on or directed to a voice mail box that is full and you cannot leave a message. All I wanted to do was to tell their customer support to include the free shims in my order.

Make sure you are confidant to do it and once you start it's vary straight forward . And make sure you that the cone is centered it is easy to do and you might want to press on the cone before starting to get a feel for it so you don't glue it with a scratchy sound when it flexes in and out . And to get the 1200 ps paradigm out of the big box is a little tricky . Unscrew the amp on the back and then unscrew the bottom screws like all 23 of them then push from the little space in were the amp was and puss the bottom outwards , it may take a min but don't try and put something around the bottom seem and try prying it out just push from the inside were the amp is and it will pop out .

I was able to repair my 20+ year old Paradigm sub with this. Definitely takes some careful work. I actually had to peel mine off and reset it, but thankfully it didn't tear. I've had this sub since the 90s and hopefully it'll last another 20 years or more! I highly recommend it, and if you attempt to repair your own sub, definitely use a tone generator and make sure it's properly aligned as you set the adhesive.

I put this thing together. Cleaned everything off my speakers for the new foam. Glued everything together. Let it sat for 7 days. Today I finally put everything back in place. Played some music to test the sub. Heard some crackling noise. Open the speakers, the foam was completely detached from the speaker. 7 days of cure time and this thing didn't stay on.

I was seriously bumbed out when my Paradigm PS1200 quit working. Paradigm wanted $200 to replace the driver, and $180 to repair it. I was leary about this kit, but figure for the price it would be worth a shot. The kit is excellent, and the instructions combined with the YouTube video on how to center your voicecoil with a smartphone were perfect. I am now back in happy Bass land and would highly recommend trying a foam repair yourself.

Part came early. I set to work right away on replacing the foam ring. It fit perfect. The glue that came with it worked good. The directions where great. I followed them and had it done in no time. I would use them again.

Perfect fit for my Paradigm PDR 12. Installation was really easy, the dust cap did not need to be removed. The seller provided sufficient and clear instructions and plenty of glue to get the job done. This was my first attempt on install a new surround and it went on perfectly. I spent a lot of time removing the old glue and surround from the speaker cone and frame. Springfield Speaker makes it easy for anyone who can follow instructions to replace a foam surround.
