I made the mistake of putting my 10-gallon tank on top of my dining room table like a centerpiece. I built that table myself and it has an epoxy finish. Well, over time, the tank created a rectangular impression in the epoxy that required me to sand it down and refinish the table.I should have had something like this mat. It is, for all intents and purposes, an adhesive-backed mousepad. The length was just barely long enough for my 10-gallon Aqueon tank. And when I say just barely, I mean it didn't have a millimeter to spare. The width, thankfully, had a bit more wiggle room. I didn't end up using the adhesive because I didn't want it permanently stuck to my tabletop. It works perfectly. It cushions the tank and prevents it from biting into the epoxy finish. It also (apparently) helps to level the tank. I can't really confirm or deny that claim, but the water line does look pretty level to me, so... maybe?Anyways, this really should be a no-brainer for any size tank and any table surface. This will provide some cushioning, prevent movement, prevent damage to either the tank or the tabletop, and even dampen vibration. It's a great product and I would highly recommend it because it will easily pay for itself. Hopefully they make it in larger sizes so I can use it on my larger tanks as well.

Thicker than other similar mats I've gotten. One side is meant to stick onto the surface of whatever your tank is on. Took a while to lay flat but its working fine. I have this one under a 5 gallon and there was room to cut it down a bit, would fit under a 10 gallon.
