I ordered these ‘Outdoor Ground Lights’ to use to outline a section of my front flower boxes. I had been using solar lighting, but I found the lights getting dim with age. I figured these ground lights would be a good replacement.These ‘Outdoor Ground Lights’ remind me of the ones I installed under the eaves in the front of our house. Only the eaves lights are a lot better…because they stay put. These ground lights use cheap plastic stakes to stick them in the ground. And the stakes are thin and brittle and crack easily when you stick them into hard ground. And honestly, they aren’t nearly long enough to keep the lights in the ground especially with the thick wire that runs between them.And if that weren’t enough, the stakes are installed on the light using a cheap sticky foam pad. Now everyone knows those adhesive foam pads don’t like to stay stuck in the best of conditions, so they won’t stay keep the lights stuck to the stakes being they are mounted outside…near the ground…and in all kinds of weather. A slide in stake of some sort would have been a lot better. That is definitely poor planning and design on this product.But these ‘Outdoor Ground Lights’, aside from the mounting hardware, are actually very nice. They are quite bright, and the colors of the lights are very bright and vivid. They will be easy to see from a distance and will definitely get noticed by the neighbors.The included remote is very responsive and quite intuitive to use. I honestly figured it out without having to read the instructions. And the remote operates from a good distance from the lights. But the access to the effects is very limited with the remote.The required app…Lemon23…really does off a lot more features, and I would recommend downloading it. It seems stable and safe. I did have a bit of trouble getting these ‘Outdoor Ground Lights’ to connect to the app, though. It took 3 or 4 times for it to work. The included instructions are very clear and easy to read and understand. The additional effects included in the app and the added control you have with the light set are a definite advantage.I will definitely try using these ‘Outdoor Ground Lights’ in my front flower bed once the ground thaws. I love the look and versatility of these lights, and they look so good on. I’m just worried installing them will be a major problem given how inferior the included installation hardware is.
