Application:
Annular cutters are best used with a drill press or magnetic drilling machine, both for their stability against high torque forces created by such a drill bit and lower RPMs compared to other types of drills.
As annular cutters require very low RPM (from min 50 RPM), these cutters can be easily used with light duty drilling machines or portable magnetic base drilling machines
Suitable for working with both ferrous and non-ferrous metals,cast iron, stainless steel, aluminum, copper, and plastic,wood, in either plate.
Annular cutters can also be best used to make holes in pipes and tubes. Annular cutters help make holes in pipe and tubes without dimpling and deburring.
The formula for calculating the speed
As per the diameter of the annular cutter and the type of annular cutter the speed of the magnetic drilling machine has to be set.
d = diameter of the annular cutter in mm.
v = cutting speed of the annular cutters.
Cutting Speed:
Requirement to cutting rotate speed of annular cutter are also different fpr different diameters,and reasonable cutting rotate speed will prolong service life of annular cutter directly,we recommend:
1.Cuttingspeed:VC=20-25m/min;
2.The reasonable rotate feed amount shall be fn=0.08-0.13mm/ min;
3.The reasonable feed rate shall be vf=36-60mm/min
- During the drilling process, the pilot pin will retract into the cutter allowing lubrication to reduce heat gain in the slug
- Insert the ejector pin inside the annular cutter,never use an annular cutter without an ejector pin.
- Using lubricant or coolant with any type of annular cutter is a must. A correct lubrication and coolant delivery more life for annular cutters. HSS annular cutters required Cutting oil, not coolant.

The cutters do what they're advertised to do in aluminum. I wouldn't use them in steel or cast iron though.
