1.Calibrationg your dial indicator
2.Turn the outer dial face until the hand points to 0
3.Press spindle against item, taking a measurement
4.Calculate the measurement,add two calculations together.

Works great, numerous tips to choose from, magnet is strong, overall product seems to be quality. The only con I have to say would just be the cheap case all the tips come in, if the main case itself doesn’t stay flat as it would if you were to open it, the smaller case will shift and comes open every time spilling the tips. But overall I’m happy with the product!

I don't know what really happened but this is crap. It came with out the tips that attached the the dial indicator. It was delivered late and I didn't have time to return it . I really needed to finish what I was doing so I had to keep this junk.

The magnet is strong and the legs are easily adjustable. I like these old style gauges. Digital may be more accurate but I don't care. I'll use mechanical till I die.

Just as described and super easy to use. I was able to fully rebuild my 1st rear end using this dial indicator along with some other precision tools. Having the right tool for the job is worth its weight in gold my friends. Strong magnet and fully adjustable arms allowed myme to place the dial exactly where I needed it. The entire kit seems well built and the extra tips included are very useful and I swapped on the one that came on the dial. The daily itself is very sensitive and accurate. I highly recommend this little kit.

Everything I could have asked for. I needed in to align the table on my table saw and it did that with no problem. I'm sure I'll find many other things to do with it. I couldn't find my other dial indicator, so I needed this one. Good price, good service, good deal. I'm very happy.
