The handle seemed less substantial than I expected. I thought it would feel like or have the weight of a real spoon. Instead it felt really thin and light. The ball part became unattached to the handle after about 3 weeks of twice daily use. I can still use the ball separately but I'm so disappointed.

If I had reviewed this product when I first bought it, it would have been a glowing review. But now about a month and half to two months later, this product has litterally fallen apart. Little bits of tea started to seep through the seam. Nearly every time I cleaned it in the past three weeks, the halves separated. Then, I would have to try to fit one half back into the clasp and seal it shut with my teeth. The last time this happened, the clasp completely fell off and went down the drain of my sink, so there is no repairing it this time. Also, even when perfectly in tact, you have to leave your water level at least an inch below the rim of your cup, otherwise your tea leaves are always steeping, defeating the purpose of even taking it out of the water. I really hate leaving a negative review, but I just wanted to warn others. If you just want an inexpensive tea ball and you don't mind being extremely cautious when washing it, go for it.

I love this infuser! I should've bought two of these instead of being tempted by that stupid monkey one. This one I can tell will last a long time. Just know that you have to be careful with the hinge on this type of tea ball, but there's no reason to be rough with them anyway. It creates an excellent seal to keep your infusions free from debris. And the cup rest handle works perfectly. I will be buying another one (or two) of these! I now prefer this type over the squeeze-handle type (which will warp over time and no longer seal correctly).

If you use very fine loose tea, this might not work for you as the mesh isn't super tiny. I generally use loose tea with bigger leaves and pieces (I drink a lot of herbal tea) and I rarely get pieces left at the bottom of the cup. I'll usually shake it over the sink before I put it in the mug, just in case.I've had this for a number of months and it's really great. Simple to use and it latches very well. Easy to wash. The notch works great on all mugs.

Been using this guy for about 6 months now and it's still going strong. As some others commented, the mesh is a little big and you will get a little debris in the bottom of your cup, but I've found the same to be true with some tea bags too, so that's hardly a reason not to consider this. Plus, it's not like this thing is larger than almost all the other ones I've seen. It's held up well, it stays closed, it's easy to open and clean and the cup rest is a nice touch. If you want a nice, cheap way to steep your loose tea leaves, this is a good choice!

I'm happy with with this infuser; it does the job well. I did notice what other reviewers said - that it lets tea leaf "specks" get through - but this doesn't bother me.The infuser looks spacious, but if you use leaves that open up or expand a lot when steeping, you should experiment with the amount so the leaves have enough room. After steeping about 15 Rishi Jasmine Pearls a couple times, the infuser looks close to full.As you might have noticed in the picture, the infuser may stay dipped in your tea even when the infuser is sitting on the cup's rim. So you might want to use a larger or taller cup. This kind of infuser is more "work" to operate versus the spring-loaded type, because you have to close the 2 halves then fasten the clip manually. One time I forgot to fasten it and the tea spilled out. After that, I haven't forgotten.

Makes my tea fine. The mesh is not tiny enough, so some tea leaves do come out. Makes better tea like chrysanthemum or any thing that doesn't go through the mesh easily. Closing the mesh is better when you only fill 1 side of the mesh ball, but not too great when you have on both side. Tea can get stuck around the edge which doesn't seal the mesh ball well. The lock that holds the two half mesh locks good and never opens up when I drink. Sometimes when drinking my tea, the mesh looks big or it's in the way when I drink in a small cup, but I don't have a problem with that in a big cup. Aesthetic is good, and I use it once in a while. I gave 3 star because the mesh is not for all tea and I don't really use it all the time. Design of the device is good because other guests likes to see it when I just place it on top of my cup.

I read a tea book that mentioned loose teas are the most inaccurate way to make a cup of tea because you cannot accurately measure for each cup. With this gadget, you can get a pretty close measure everytime. The double side allows for the more leafy or flowery loose teas to be accurately measured as well. It also works well with tea bags. If I'm making a cup at the table, the groove in the handle allows me to place it on the cup's edge to finish draining. When you're done, simply dump the used leaves in a receptacle for disposal. I bought two, one for home and one for travel.
