This wick is a little thick for the work we normally do repairing surface mount components. It does however work like a charm for almost any other soldering that we do.

Makes quick work of cleaning up solder. Haven't had any issue with this wick yet. Not recommended for microsoldering work, you may need to cut it in half for that, probably best to get something smaller.

This desoldering braid mostly works, for easy jobs, but isn't really fluxed enough to do more demanding work.If you're going to use it, especially on double-sided or small-holed PCBs, you'll likely need to add flux to get a clean removal of solder.

This solder wick is fairly reasonable for $7 for 2 at the time of this review. I can't say much more than it looks well made and packaged and does the job to desolder electrical components without much splattering.

I solder just about everyday and typically use pumps to remove solder. However, every so often a situation occurs, especially when dealing with circuit boards that you need to remove solder from a less defined area. That is when I grab the solder wick braid. This braid has worked just as well as any others I have used and it is a good price for a pack of 2. When used sparingly these things can last quite some time.

You put this under the soldering iron to take up old solder. Other methods may lift the pad possibly causing permanent damage. It works very well.

I'm using this for fine desoldering work on controller boards where a vacuum desoldering tool has trouble fitting. The wick is nice and small, but it gives off pretty strong fumes when in use. I am venting my workspace so this is of small concern to me, but those who are less familiar with this type of work should really take this into consideration before beginning their jobs.

Good desoldering braid. It is narrow (.1"), but does work well. I'm happy with it.
