I have used this product before as it doesn’t hurt the fish in my ponds, I actually have 2 ponds. I usually put it in the ponds 2 or 3 times a year as it helps control the pond scum. It does change the color of the water to a dark blue. As always prime shipping is the way to go as I know when I place an order that it will be delivered on time.

This product does a fantastic job of coloring your pond water. Directions are easy to follow and it works immediately. I would buy this again.

Keeps water dark so algae doesn’t grow.

I live in E. TX where the silt is so fine, pond water never settles clear. Typically I use blue dye. The blue doesn't look natural to me and will turn into a pea soup color after awhile. I started adding black to it and it not only looks more natural but the color holds better. Black is harder to find, more expensive and not as strong of a pigment but you don't have to add much of it to blue. This looked great when I added it, the next day when it all settled in, the pigment was very weak. My pond was down 2.5 feet when I dyed. A full gal of blue would have been overkill. Typically I'll dump 1/2 - 3/4 of a gal in and safe the rest to top it off once it rains and fills up more. A full gal., no rain and a gal. didn't cover correctly. For reference, my pond is an odd shape, almost like a dog bone, when full it's roughly 70' x 40' at it's widest points. Call it an 1/8th of an acre? Deepest points might be 7', pond was down 2.5' at the time so call it 65 ft x 35' and max 4.5' deep.If you are just doing a small coy pond that has clear water, you might like this. If you are accustomed to dying ponds, you will be disappointed with this.

I purchased this product for my farm pond after having a less than favorable experience with a competing dye. This product has lasted over 30 days so far and continues to work well. I am very pleased.

Best dye I tried so far. I did not want to do a sapphire blue so I kept using black, but it did not last. Not sure why. This is the first dye that lasted longer. Still not black, but not sapphire either, compromise.
