This easy to install device minimizes the impact of sudden temperature changes for everyone and helps make showering more comfortable for people requiring assistance.If your water temperature fluctuates suddenly when someone flushes the toilet or turns on the hot or cold water, you can temporarily lower the Shower Shield so you aren’t sprayed with water that is too hot or too cold. Once things settle down, you simply raise the Shower Shield and can continue showering at the temperature you originally set. While I could turn the shower off at these times, it always takes time and effort to readjust the dials/handles to return to the comfortable temperature I set earlier. It is much simpler and faster to simply lower and then raise the Shower Shield.This device would also be helpful when bathing a child or someone else who needs help, as you can set the water temperature where you want it, block the water flow while you get the person into the shower, and then simply raise the Shower Shield to restore water flow. If you turn on the water when the person being showered is already in place, you risk spraying them with water that is uncomfortably hot or cold while you try to adjust the temperature. It may also strain your back to have to lean into the shower for a while to adjust the temperature until it is right.Some may also find it helpful for shaving or other activities, when you don’t want to be sprayed with water.I have not used the optional Water Saver, so can’t comment on that device at this time.
