Love it! This NetumScan USB POS Receipt Printer has proven to be a valuable asset to our day to day business operations! It prints really fast...at a speed that significantly reduces customer wait times (300mm/s), which make the checkout experience effective and the customers happy. The width of the paper is 80mm which accommodates clear and detailed receipts, and the auto-cutter ensures a neat and professional presentation.I am impressed they thought to add the included cash drawer which offers secure storage for cash and such making all our needed tools in one place but secure. The USB interface makes it easy to connect to various devices, including PCs, Macs, and Linux systems. We have tried on all and had no trouble.I appreciate the printer's compatibility with ESC/POS commands, because it helps me create seamless integration with our existing POS software. This thermal receipt printer is bare bones, but once installed it is easy to use and prints very fast. Loading paper is easy. You just drop the 80mm wide roll of thermal paper in, leave the tail end hanging out, and close the cover. I use it with 230ft rolls which are about 80mm in diameter.The included manual only has setup instructions for Windows. However, I use this printer on a Linux system so I had to go searching for a driver. I ended up using one from the Netum website. The CUPS driver installs as a Zijiang POS-80250 printer. I also had to manually set it to use USB instead of the default IP address that it tries to use, even though this version of the printer does not even have an ethernet port.The resolution is legible but could be better. The automatic cutter works great. The printer has a very annoying beep when it runs out of paper, which I guess could be a good thing. The only controls on the printer are a paper feed button and an on-off switch. The build quality of the printer is mediocre, but it should last a while with light duty use. The printer would be more versatile if it was a network printer, but for POS use, having only USB is acceptable. Overall, this printer works for me.

The printer is made from the usual inexpensive plastic you'd expect for a no-name device, though well molded and put together well. I wouldn't want to use it for a busy grocery-store checkout, but for a smaller store it should work just fine. Print quality is good with a variety of 80mm paper.When plugged in via USB, the printer identifies itself as "STMicroelectronics POS80 Printer USB." If your application or OS has a driver for that printer, it should be good to go. On a Mac, you'll have to check the app you're using, because there's not a trustworthy free driver for that model. STMicroelectronics no longer supports the real POS80. While the vendor offers Windows drivers, they're via a random Chinese website, and they're not signed by Microsoft—meaning they're an unacceptable security risk. Installing them could cause you problems in a PCI DSS audit, if you accept credit cards.A manual in poorly translated English is included. It seems to cover a variety of models, with features not found on this device (such as Bluetooth and Ethernet). The printer appears to have a serial port in the form of a 6P6C modular jack, but no pin-out information is included, so who knows what it's compatible with.A UL-listed power transformer is included, but the printer itself hasn't been safety-certified by any nationally-recognized testing laboratory. Given it's a device that uses heating elements against paper, that's unfortunate.If you're looking for a receipt printer for hobby use, and you intend to send ESC/POS code directly to the printer, it should work fine. If you really need a POS80 replacement, it's an option.

I have always liked this brand, NetumScan, and this receipt printer is no different. I like that the printer paper is held securely inside because it decreases the chances of the paper getting offline. The print quality and speed are excellent. It is clear-the print- on the paper. It is easy to use this thermal printer. Just check to make sure it is compatible with your device. Generally, if you use an ethernet cable or wireless Bluetooth, you are good. It should work. The price is less than $80, which is a good deal.
