The tools that are included on the pages of this Bible are designed to help me interact with what I'm reading, think about it more deeply, and apply it to my life. This is an incredible tool to aid in study and application of scripture. The pages are thin so it may not be appropriate for young children to handle, but they could participate in the discussion questions. Beautifully made.

I found this Bible while searching for a Kindle Bible with a reading plan that's hyperlinked to each reading. It's fantastic on my Kindle Scribe! The hyperlinks let me quickly jump to the daily scriptures and make journal notes directly alongside the text. It also offers excellent hypertext guides for deeper engagement. I haven't used the NET Bible extensively in my studies before, but I'm looking forward to delving into it in the coming year as God leads.

I’m really enjoying this Bible. It is easy to navigate on the kindle app for iPad. I love the different ways it has to interact with it. There are prayers, journal prompts, ways to picture yourself in the story, contemplations. I especially love the Engage through Art index, where it shows famous paintings and relates them to God’s story. It gives me a whole new perspective to consider.

I am fairly new to the New English Translation (NET) but I have come to appreciate it already and have been looking for a good study Bible based on it. The full notes edition is a good resource but does not lend itself to "normal" study. In researching options, I found the Abide Bible, and I decided to get a copy for myself. It is quickly becoming one of my favorite Bibles, although it is not exactly a study Bible.The Abide Bible is a very different animal. It falls somewhere in the category of devotional Bible, but it's not even that. Instead, it is more of a Bible designed to spark spiritual growth through more thought provoking activity not dissimilar from small group study. It has a number of extras that are designed to engage the reader: journaling prompts, questions and comments for reflection, full color artwork for engaging the reader, and more. There is one or more of these helps on almost every page and addressing most chapters of each book.The benefit of this type of approach to Bible reading and contemplation is that the extra helps are habit forming and can lead the reader into a deeper and more meaningful time of reading and study. I've found myself reading a little more carefully and spending more time thinking about the passages I read as a result. From that standpoint, this is an absolute win.I have the brown leathersoft edition and I really, really like it. The pages are silver gilded, and the volume comes with two ribbon markers which is becoming more commonplace. The whole volume is very attractive. I also like the typefaces used - the text is very readable and comfortable.Though I got this Bible for personal study it has become the volume I carry with me to church on Sundays. It's not exactly a study Bible but it is not a devotional Bible either. It is instead something different altogether, a Bible designed to establish a deeper understanding of Scripture and better reading/study habits.

I bought this Bible after using an NIV one for 15 years. I wanted to try a different translation. I also wanted something contemplative. My husband is a pastor and he basically collects Bibles. I wouldn't let him buy me one because he never picked one I liked. I found this one myself. He researched it and was very impressed.I don't write in it. I like keeping it out for easy access and it looks nice on the table. It has a lot of useful pieces to it like the Bible reading plan. I enjoy the contemplative sections on the side margins. It helps me slow down and reflect more on what I read.I have only had it a few months and am still finding out new features in it, but I don't solely use this Bible during my devotions, which is why I bought it. I stopped using the Bible plan daily and started using the contemplative margins more. I have never done well with Bible reading plans though as I tend to move around more and pair my reading with other books.Overall, it's a beautiful Bible.

Great bible great for studying. I love the prayers/meditations down the side of the pages which encourages you to think about what you've just read & to go deeper !

this bible is so interactive. New way to think, meditate and journal about scripture. I particularly recommend this bible to visual learners. Good artwork that is always relevant to the verse or passage

This is an amazing Bible, that has a number of different imaginative ways to help you dive deeper into God's word. Using art, journaling, praying the scriptures, and helping to get you imagining that you are right there, in the places and seeing and hearing what is going on around you.The NET is not my absolutely favourite translation, if I am honest, but it is also available in the New King James Version if you prefer. And as long as I am using it but not comparing it to other translations, it is a nice and easy read, and that does work quite well with the prompts you work with.

I love this Bible. This second edition, from 2017, is a highly polished work of modern scholarship. I really recommend it.This pew version of their work has a small selection of translator's notes drawn from the over 60,000 that can be found free online at "netbible.org" or in the full-notes version. Although the pages are thin, the Bible is made of quality materials. If you are good to it, I believe it will last. It is also very inexpensive, making a wonderful gift.The NET Bible is an inspired project. Intended to spread the original word of God to everyone, the creators went back to the earliest available transcriptions in the original tongue and started their translation there, directly from Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek into modern English. So the result minimizes any loss of original meaning like you get with many modern translations of translations of translations, e.g. Greek to Latin to Old English to Modern English.There were something like 25 scholars who were not only academics specialized in ancient languages, but they were also scholars of the Bible. Plus, they had available to them all of the manuscripts, external manuscripts, and scientific dating techniques that were definitely not available to early translators.On top of all of this, the publisher has made the NET Bible freely available to everyone online and issued their copywrite such that it is free to quote from the NET Bible, as long as you reference it properly.My hope is that other chapters which are recognized by the other main branches of Christianity, specifically Orthodox and Catholic, will be included in an upcoming complete edition, including notes explaining the history of inclusion/exclusion of various chapters, and the scientific dating of the earliest known codex of each chapter.I would also like future editions/printings to include a blue/red ink version to distinguish words of the Father, Holy Spirit, and the Son, and perhaps underlining to distinguish the words of others such as an angel of God, or perhaps Satan, etc.I pray the NET Bible project flourishes and helps to reveal the true gospel to mankind.

First of all, I didn't know about NET Bible, until one day this year, I watched a YouTube review about the bible. Out of curiosity, I visited the website of Thomas Nelson and there I found THE ABIDE BIBLE, NET Translation. I watched and read several reviews until I was convinced to purchase a copy of it. I got the Brown Leathersoft edition.THE ABIDE BIBLE is an awesome Bible for those who not only read the Bible for the story but also devotion. This Bible makes you interact more with God through its five main features:1. Praying Scriptures - you will pattern and personalize your prayers after the biblical texts, thereby gaining language for the thoughts and emotions you want to express;2. Picture It - you will be asked to place yourself in a biblical narrative as a bystander or participant in important events in the Bible;3. Journal - you will be asked to focus and reflect on the Scripture and how it means in your life, thus, opening yourself to God's voice through Holy Spirit;4. Engage Through Art - you will be asked to consider a classic piece of art and by it, deepen your meditation on the scriptural truths;5.
