The dial indicator is perfectly adequate. It's partially identical to any of the no name brand indicators here on Amazon or from places like Harbor Freight. The magnetic mount isn't the best though. The magnet holds strong enough, but the flexible neck just isn't very stable. You have to bend it pretty aggressively to get it into the position you want, but then it drifts over time, or wobbles if there's too much vibration in whatever you're measuring.

The flexible arm and it's internal cable are solidly made of steel and feel quite robust. The magnetic base is turned on and off using the switch on the front, as in all bases of this type. The arm is screwed into the base and can be completely detached if you prefer to not use the magnetic base. Attaching the indicator to the arm is dead simple and an instruction sheet that's included in the blow-molded case goes over how to put things together, but it's simple to figure out even if that sheet is missing.As with other Neoteck tools I've tried, it's a good quality bit of kit. The indicator is precise to 1 mil which is fine for most jobs, and includes a replacement baseplate. You'll need a small philips screwdriver to remove the preinstalled flat plate first if you want to use the "loop" baseplate. The display is easy to read with it's large LCD digits and quickly switches between inches and millimeters with 1 button press. It comes with a battery pre-installed as well as a spare LR44 button cell. Indicator tip is the ball-point type, is knurled and potentially replaceable if you prefer using a different tip. The kit does not come with different tips so you'll need to source those elsewhere.Overall recommended. I've used many Neoteck tools at this point and find that the brand aims for decent quality and longevity.

This seems to be a good measuring gauge. It is nice to have the luxury flexible mounting arm. It gave the same reading as a similar tool during a comparison test of reading brake rotors, so it is accurate for readings. It has an easy to read screen.
