Although I returned this dress it was just because it was not as flattering to my flaws as another one I tried. It was a gorgeous dress, well made with good weight material and beautiful style. If I had less of a belly fat issue I would have kept it.

First off, because I know it's helpful, I am 5'4", 175lbs, more pear shaped than apple. While I normally would have ordered a Large, I decided to order an XL, based on the size chart. I tend to select my size based on the bust measurements (the waist and hips never match up). I am a 38 A1/2. The XL says 38.9"/Large, 36.6". It fit fine when I got it, although it was a little large in the shoulders/neckline and about an inch longer than I wanted (just below my knees - I wanted something more knee-length). I could tell by bunching the material at the zipper that I could size down. The material is nice - it has an expensive feel, substantial weight (meaning not thin or flimsy), and a good stretch. I went ahead and ordered a Large, just to see, and it's perfect. It is flatteringly form-fitting, as it is meant to be, but since the fabric is heavy enough, nothing bulges on me. I have a little bit of a stomach which shows, but I planned to wear shapewear anyway for a slimmer look. I purchased several dresses to try on for an interview and threw this one in at the last minute, and it's a winner! The only thing is that the label is sewn on the inside of the collar. Because it's a stand up collar, it shows, but I'm just going to take it out. I feel great and confident in this dress, which will make me feel great and confident in my interview so I know I'll get the job!
