I am quite particular when it comes to which reeds I use for my alto sax so I was a little hesitant to try a brand I am not familiar with. I have to say that after using these for a while, they are not half bad at all. While they are personally not my favorite, they are definitely in my top 5, especially when you take into account the price. Give these a try, they are pretty great!

I got these for the 8th grade sax player in the family. He likes them a lot. He said they play easily right out of the box. He had no problem with any part of the range and was very happy with them. He has been playing for several years and would best be characterized as an intermediate player.

My first impression of these reeds is that they are just reeds. The 2.5 strength seems to be very close to other brands at 2.5 strength. They could use some finishing to smooth out the slightly rough edges. They play about as well as any other reed on the market. I uploaded one photo and if you can look closely, they all look like they were cut by a different person or machine. You can see in the center that some have rounded edges and some have a more square edge cut and others are just completely off center. I only mention this because there is a claim of advanced cutting technology. By a simple visual inspection one can see there is nothing advanced about the cuts. Moreover, do I want a thinner tip? Do these really have a thinner tip? I don't see or feel it. I also don't want a thinner tip. You have to have some meat on the bone at the tip or the reed won't respond well. But one can always clip the tip back a hair. I read another review here that stated these reeds are smaller than some other alto reeds in their possession. I have not observed that when comparing these to my other brands. I can say that the photo used for comparison contained a tenor reed and an alto reed, not two alto reeds. Tenor reeds in my possession and in my experience are about 3 1/4 inches in length, which is clearly the length of the reed in the photo. Thus, I wouldn't worry about these reeds being too small. If you soak the reed and slap it on it will play pretty much like any other reed and that's all I can say about it. I do not find anything advanced or precise about these reeds nor do I get the sense of them having more clarity than any other brand. I think these reeds would be fine for a student. I however would suggest getting the 3.0 and make custom finishing touches to gain more consistency. That said, the 2.5 is fine for someone that just wants to slap on a reed and play it.

These are pretty standard reeds for saxophones, ideal for beginner-level musicians. They work perfectly for my 10-year-old son’s school music classes and are much more affordable than the ones sold in the music store where we rented the sax.Overall, they do their job well, and I’m satisfied with the purchase. Great value for the price!

These Alto Saxophone Reeds are perfect! My son just started playing and learning the Alto Saxophone( he's in 4th grade) so, especially right now, having have a number of reeds at the ready is vital to his learning. Now I did notice that these reeds seem to produce a clearer sound then the reeds that the music store had given us. They also were easier for my son to put them into their place on this Sax. I absolutely LOVE that each of the reeds have their own plastic case to keep them safe. Plus you get 10 reeds which is a phenomenal deal. I highly recommend these to anyone who plays the Alto Saxophone. You will not be disappointed.
