These handmade spoons are made from strong Acacia wood and are completely different from any other. These professional spoons actually sound great compared to others on the market. There is a nice percussive 'clip-clop' sound that only hard wood can make. Great quality musical session wooden spoons. Perfect for folk sessions. Ideal for playing folk music such as Irish, Scottish or Appalachian mountain music. I designed the spoons to be separate not attached. By having the spoons not attached you have more options for changing the tones depending on how you line up the cups of the spoons. I honestly feel like I created a new musical percussion instrument, as I can change the tones while playing. See the video in the description. No fingers needed and no blisters. You just have to hold the spoon handles flat side together with the cups facing each other and that's it. It is much more impressive playing with 2 separate spoons. I have been playing spoons professionally full-time for 33 years. I know spoons! There are only a few that sound good on the market however all of them are attached together or a single piece. I have always refused to use connected spoons in my shows, but with this unique design, they are played in every show. See me in action in the about section! I have a totally clean act. I never use dirty silverware :) Join my growing list of the SPOONED!

Got these as a Christmas gift from my husband and they work very well. I love that they come with a little tutorial sheet.

I used these in a professional setting during an Irish composition for concert band. They are much more dependable and easy to use then other spoons that I purchased it the past. They are durable and tone is excellent. This was a great purchase!

I have a son who from childhood was tapping out rhythms on anything that made noise. He never did have a drum set, but he really, really likes these spoons and can do amazing things with them. He used YouTube videos to pick up some of the methods and skills and he's incredible now. I've tried and have no talent, but for family members who seem to have been born with the beat running through their heads, this is less expensive and less deafening than a drum kit. He has accompanied guitarists and street performers, and plays for people at parties. It's a good way to get into percussion, inexpensive and easily portable. Recommended!

I am learning to play the spoons and I finally have found spoons that fit my hand and is easy to control. All other separated spoons slip and move around in my hand which makes complicated rhythms hard to play. They are well worth the money and I can see many hours of enjoyment as my techniques develop.

I play spoons professionally but was looking for a set to do a quick gig while I was out of town and didn’t have my spoons with me. It’s clear that these are made lovingly and well, however they are also made for a specific playing style. Unfortunately, that style is not for me. I found the spoons to be very uncomfortable for my hands and awkward to play. I think my hands are too small for them and gripping with a fist created tension I didn’t enjoy. The pointed ends also we’re not comfortable for my fingers. These may be fantastic for someone with larger hands or someone who just wants to dabble. They are well-made and beautiful to look at. They just weren’t for me.

My wife runs an after school program for children and we purchased these as a way to introduce them to basic percussion. They're obviously cheaper (and quieter) than traditional drums. Great quality craftsmanship and the kids enjoy playing. Glad I purchased them!
