They Eventually Arrived. I rebuilt the entire Steering and Suspension system; Struts, lower control arms, sway bar bushings and Stabilizer links, Steering Rack, Power Steering Pump, Reservoir and all new hoses. Most parts thru Amazon were excellent price and quality. No installation hiccups, but I am a professional Mechanic. Decided to brush paint the parts Yellow with Synthetic Enamel, Once cleaned and sprayed with brake clean the paint wears quite well and shows any leaks.

I purchased both left and right Quick Struts in May of 2019. The spring broke on the right side strut while I was driving on the highway. Sounded like a small explosion when it exited the back of my van after hitting the underside of my van. I don't know if it became a road hazard to other drivers. These items are just 4 years old and only have 25,000 miles on them. They are both severely rusted. The accompanying photos show the broken r.h. spring and the rust pile that came off the l.h. strut. The original spring in the picture has no such rust after 60,000 miles and 13 years of N.Y. road salt and pot holes. I would not recommend these struts to anyone. I unfortunately couldn't just use the original springs because these struts are much shorter than the originals. Why? Is Monroe's bottom line more important than safe and happy customers? I guess so being I had to order another Quick Strut because although they are questionable I can't afford to replace both struts to the original equipment size. No. Definitely not recommended.

I was weary of the "Quick Strut" quality compared the more expensive OEMSpectrum Strut Assembly but on a budget & a time crunch I chose these. Now, after more than 3 years they have done very well in holding their own. The ride is still wonderful, soft when needed but road hugging sporty like full time. Its interesting to feel how much of a difference these made compared to the factory original. My only gripe is that after several months when the strut had reached its average settling point it was lower in the front compared to the original struts. Where I was once able to park over top of small parking lot concrete stoppers my front bumper now drags across it. However this is no reason not to buy as the ride quality is still amazing & tight. I recommend without a doubt that these will more than satisfy your needs. I wouldn't look elsewhere.

My Dodge Grand Caravan needed a strut replacement. The auto shop was going to charge me over $500 to replace it. I'm too much of a tight-wad to pay something I feel that I can do myself. I was preparing myself for a daunting task, but then on Youtube I found out about this strut. It was a lifesaver; plus it doesn't cost that much more than a strut without a spring. I was able to remove the old strut and replace it with this on in less than 1 hour. (You spend more time jacking up the car and finding the right tools.) Having the two struts side-by-side it is easy to see that the Monroe strut is much better quality. The greatest thing is that there is no compressing the spring - on either strut! Just pop one out and put the other in. Simple. I would recommend this part to anyone, even if you only have a small experience with auto mechanics.

Installed these struts on our 2005 Chrysler Town & Country without any major issues, the most difficult task was removing the sway bar links. In all, I replaced the struts, the sway bar links and bushings, and the shocks (same Monroe family). After the installation I had the vehicle aligned, and the shop thought it was a waste of money to have replaced the strut bolts, as recommended by Monroe: so skip this replacement item and save the 20 bucks. Additionally, I had to retighten the strut mounting nuts after the units seated themselves. I also needed to retighten the sway bar link nuts at the same time. The ride has dramatically improved, but I would label it as stiff.

A local shop wanted $900 parts and labor to replace the struts and shocks on my wife's Grand Caravan. I got the same parts (these struts and monroe shocks for the rear) for about 1/3 their price on amazon (local auto parts stores were cheaper than the repair shop but still higher than amazon). Installation was pretty straight forward and took about 2 or 3 hours. Would have been about an hour but I stripped a nut and had to cut and replace a $10 stabilizer arm and grind off the bolt (adding an extra hour or so for a trip to the auto parts store). There was a little bit of a learning curve on the first side I tackled (including stripping that nut on the stabilizer arm) but the second side took me literally 15 minutes to swap out once I had the tire off. Another $70 for a professional alignment and I had in it about half the cost I would have paid a shop to do it (and their quote didn't include alignment). If you have some mechanical skills, a shop manual (or Haynes, Chilton, etc.), decent mechanics tools, and a torque wrench, this job is really pretty simple. An impact wrench doesn't hurt either but isn't necessary (and might save you from stripping a nut . The van sits an inch higher and rides so much better...probably like new but that was 70k miles ago so I guess I'd forgotten what that felt like. Very happy with this product. Great price, relatively simple install, and excellent performance.
