As a chef, I bake and mix all the time. My Kitchen Aid mixer felt heavy 10 years ago when I was stronger, and feels like it weighs 50 pounds now. Getting it out of a cabinet and onto the counter was difficult for me and leaving it on the counter wasn't an option.This mixer lift saved the day for me. I have an 18" wide cabinet in my island where I do most of my prep work, and the lift fit perfectly with room underneath for pans, etc.I just open the door, grab the shelf and lift. The lift swings up and locks into place right under my islands counter top. It is solid enough that even at high speed there's no wobble or worry that it won't hold the mixer (a big Kitchen Aid). The best part though, when you are done with the mixer you just pull the two lock tabs right under the shelf (not included with the lift) and the lift and mixer slowly and softly swings down all by itself right back into the cabinet without hurting my back.Everyone I've shown this thinks it's the greatest thing ever, and so do I. I highly recommend.

Overall this is a very impressive device but there are a couple of issues that made it more difficult to install which is why I downgraded my recommendation to 3 stars. The materials are very sturdy and somewhat heavy as needed for a device that can repeatedly lift i.e. a mixer, etc..The included document that showed the installation instructions was a very poor copy & was difficult to read and the instructions themselves are minimal and unclear. The vender should send a link to a PDF of the instructions rather than an illegible piece of paper.Finally alignment of both brackets needs to be carefully installed, any disparity between the sides will make it non functional. Once finally installed and tweaked the lift shelf worked reasonable well.

This thing works great. The "soft return" is amazing.I have a pizza oven AND a Foreman electric grill on this lift.No issues at all.The soft return is perfect. I just have to pull the 2 lockinglevers outward and let it go! No need to hang on! It softlylowers the appliances and tucks them back into the cabinet.Ha! I wanted "soft return" but expected it would just ASSISTme in returning it softly. Not be able to do it all by itself.

Used it for Kitchen Aid mixer. Assembly was relatively easy and result was very sturdy in holding the heavy mixer. My husband had to improvise a hand guide in lifting the mixer as it was quite heavy for me.( a 5’ Asian aged 76). Little noisy when getting locked into top position. This is a great item for me.

This is a powerful list. It works great. It is smooth and Saturday. One caution, the mounting screws are 3/4 inch. My cabinet has 1/2 inch so I added a layer of 1/2 where it mounts.
