Material

Ditched the plastic pins as soon as I got the guitar. Used ebony for a week and decided to go on a tone chase with these bone pins.Uniform measurements on all 6 with minor color variance. Tonally the lows are tighter and the highs are unchanged. Good purchase and will order more as spares for the current setup:OMSitka/Ribbon MahoganyElixir Nano 80/20

I ordered a set and you get 3 unbleached and 3 I would say bleached ones. I know they are bone and the color can vary but I find it odd you get 3 of one darker color, and 3 of a lighter color.So I did a return and asked for a replacement. Well I got a replacement and same thing. 3 dark, 3 light.So I decided I would take the 3 dark out of one pack and put in with the 3 dark ones for the other pack and same with the light ones and return one of the packs.That is when I got to looking at them further.The actual size of the ball part of them aren't even the same size. Some are large, some are small.I am sending both packages back.

These are very attractive bridge pins. They are a bit thicker than my original ones and don’t go all the way down the holes on the bridge. That doesn’t seem to be a big deal and they are holding the strings snugly in place. I suppose you could trim and sand them down a little to fit better, but I don’t need to do that. They work perfectly well as it is.

These bone pins are very good quality. You will most likely have to sand or file them down to fit most acoustic guitars. The shaft is thicker than most standard holes on your guitar. I put them in 5 of my guitars and have to file them all down a little to fit! But they most definitely make your guitar sound better! If you have a bone nut and saddle already. I recommend them 100%!

For those who may want to know, this fits a Martin X 12 string beautifully. They match the 6 mm Abalone dots, (fret markers), that I drilled and installed in my fret board.. I lost a white plastic pin with a black dot that came with the guitar, so decided to upgrade since I was going to have to buy 12 anyway..Glad I did.
