We have developed an ant problem in our pantry. I guess I could be glad it’s not another, more gross issue but there is nothing worse than pouring your cereal into a bowl and seeing the ants beat you to it. This is great for resealing bags but didn’t work too well for the bobo balloons I tried to reseal; I freely admit, however, that could be operator error.Includes and replacement filament. Doesn’t take too long to heat up.

This sealer worked great for what I needed it for. We were going on a cruise and wanted to bring some extra snacks but they said you couldn’t bring opened food on board…so we sealed it back up just like new! Lol. It is a little temperamental in determining which setting to put it on based on the type of plastic but once you figure it out it does the rest. I also wish I could get some of the packaging closer to the sealer for a better result, but it worked well and doesn’t take up too much room on the counter either while in use.

I like this sealer. I initially got a metal 8" sealer for twice the cost, with 5mm wide heating strips. After using both, I actually prefer this one. It seals more reliably and heats along the 8" width more evenly. This is also a newer model that has a 3 prong AC plug and a green light indicating when the sealer is plugged in but not heating. If there is one downside, it's that the screws covering the heating element in place will probably strip over time. I wish they used metal inserts to hold these screws instead.

This shorter format heat sealer works just like the larger and more common version, with replaceable silicone sealed heat strips and a variable timer for consistent results once dialed in for a particular plastic material. The design seems robust, and is just as easy to use as any other sealer.

I really did not expect much at this price point, and upon opening the box the mostly plastic construction did not immediately impress. But then I started using it, and am impressed. I have used it on nearly every plastic bag in our pantry and to reseal many different food items. The adjustable timer works extremely well and after only a weeks use I am able to accurately guess the settings for new bag types. So much better than other options for partial bags of potato chips, cookies, pasta etc The only downside is we really don't have room to leave it out on the counter and want to........but function and value are 5 stars.

I've wanted one of these for years and now I'm glad I have one! It works pretty good, it has a dial to adjust the time. You place your bag in, and then press the top down and the light will turn red for the duration you set on the dial. Once it turns green again, you can lift it and your bag should be sealed! I was able to close chip bags, and even ziplock ones. I found through several tries that roughly 3 and half to 4 seconds is good for chip bags, and just under 3 seconds for thicker freezer bags. It can take a few goes to know what setting what each material. I haven't yet tried mylar long term storage bags, which will be my next go as I mainly got this for storing emergency supplies. My only issue is its not quite big enough for my larger mylar bags I have. I will experiment with attempting to seal one side at a time but I suspect that it could be tricky to get right. But all in all, so far it works great and I'm pleased!

I just love this smaller iteration of the standard impulse sealer. We have a 24" model and rarely use much more than 6"~8" of it's capacity to seal parts in the 'continuous sleeve' rolls of polyethylene material. This machine does the same job and takes up less than half the space of our old machine. The manufacturer has thoughtfully included 2 extra nichrome flat-strip heating elements as well as an extra heat resistant cover - in case the original gets scorched or suffers from wear through normal use.The impulse time setting dial allows for sealing thin (2mil) plastic or even the thick stuff (10 mils and above) The heat this device can generate when the impulse delay is set at half scale will seal even our thickest sleeves & bags. The silicone pressure bar is thick & highly pliable - it's very friendly for allowing thicker plastics to be contoured to the sealing/heating element surface. The hinge is built well, too. I can apply as excessive compression force via the palm knobs on the presser arm and the arm remains parallel to the sealing element.Folks, it works great. I much prefer this over our larger machine. If you seal 8" or lesser product often, you'll love the space savings & efficiency of this device.Loving it, using it frequently each day for over a week, without a single issue. Two thumbs up - nice device!

I have used these 12" and 18" impulse sealers for years. However, since the Mylar bag is only 3" wide for my current project, this 8" unit is better suited. When sealing hundreds of bags, we move the bag to different areas of the band to spread the wear and tear and reduce the Teflon tape from burning out too quickly. The tiny feet on the bottom of the unit were too small, so I stabilized the machine with thick rubber. Now, everything is good.Considering the price of this model, I will still award this unit 5 stars, even with the tiny feet.
