Lite weight, small when collapsed, big when not! This was so nice I bought more to give my backpacking friends.

This is actually an excellent collapsible bowl of excellent quality… until you consider the metal band at the top of it. It ruins everything. The beauty of something like this should be in its versatility - the ability of it to take on the rigors of the woods, as well as travel in the civilized world. But what if you want to use this in a travel pack, and the moment arises when you want to heat up something in a hotel microwave? You’re out of luck. You can’t stick something like this with that metal band stuck to it in a microwave. It seems like that metal band completely defeats the whole purpose of a thing like this. Yes, I know it’s there to help the lid clip to the top better. There’s other ways to do it.

This bowl is a good collapsible bowl, which is why I wanted it for my RV.It's food-grade silicone, BPA-free, odor-resistant, and comes with a collapsible spork. The spork stores inside the bowl; it may not be the greatest, but it's good to have. The lid fits tightly and doesn't leak, and it has a lanyard attached. It's a sturdy bowl for being collapsible because of the way the bottom is made with three tabs. However, I didn't see anywhere in the ad that the top has a metal ring around it. It just looks like a different color in the photos. The purpose for me was to be able to store a bowl that's collapsible and takes up less room. I had planned on using it in my microwave for heating things up, but not with a metal ring on it. There really is no way to heat up anything in the bowl; whatever you want to use the bowl for has to be heated before it goes in the bowl.If I'd known that it had this metal ring, I wouldn't have ordered it.

We ordered this as a travel dog dish and it serves really well for that. I otherwise think it would be useful as a picnic or car camping dish, but the weight rules it out as backpacking campwear for me.The silicone is thick enough that I don't have any durability concerns, though it does have the same cut/puncture vulnerability of any other silicone wear. It's a shame they couldn't make this work without the steel ring, since it adds a significant amount of weight and eliminates microwave use. Not being microwave safe really limits it's viability as a "brown bag" bowl.I think maybe the reason the ring is necessary is to make sure the kid has a leakproof seal, and it does appear to have that, which is a benefit. Otherwise it would be impossible to trust as a storage container in transit, since it would be too easy for entire container to collapse and spill. It can take a little effort to get the lid to seal since you can't press directly down, but once it's on it's airtight. I can practically sit on it and it won't collapse. I filled it with water as a test, shook it and dropped it with zero leaks. The collapsible spork is fine, though I don't care much for sporks in general. The handle is a bit wiggly even when locked in place. It feels like more of a bonus than a planned tool for the set.I think it would be a good option for someone who maybe eats in a cafateria or buffet style situation that uses disposable plates and wants to reduce waste. Otherwise, it does make a good travel dog bowl for us.

I don't want to sound mean, but I got this for my dog. Lately I have had a lot of family issues happening about 1500 miles away from my house (I'm sure you don't care) anyway it adds up to a lot of time on the road. I have a dog that travels with me, and he is not fond of car rides. So when I stop for gas this bowl makes it really easy to pop it open, fill it up and let him get a drink, then with a little shake out just put the lid on and away we go. The bowl itself is very tough I could probably use it as a frisbee for the dog. It comes with a lid that seals fairly tight because they put a metal ring around the top of the bowl that the lid lips under. There is a lanyard hole on the lid with a lanyard tether attached, it will hold it up empty but I wouldn't count on it. They have three pull tabs on the bottom of the bow and one of those has a cut out in it, I believe that is the one I would use. The one thing I didn't like and should have expected, is the utensil. It is a fold up spork, and not even a usable one. The teeth for the fork part are cut too far back to hold anything over solid food and the tines are too far embedded to poke anything. They made the back section out of what looks like an old coat hanger and it comes loose when you try to fold it. All told it's a nice bowl, and I guess they didn't have to include the spork, but if put something in it should work.

I ordered these for my wife and I when we do moto camping. Since you have to pack light for trips on a motorcycle these are perfect because they fold flat. No complaints at all. They are great

This is a great combination of a collapsible silicone bowl and a metal, folding spoon. I appreciate that the spoon is metal for durability. I've melted a bunch of plastic spoons and forks in my camping adventures and swore that I would never buy another. Although the spoon is metal, it will still fold up to take up very little space. The silicone bowl feels well made and should last a while. Of course, when collapsed, it is nearly flat and fits into my small campervan kitchen area with ease. The price also seems quite reasonable for what you get.
