It's a smaller alternator for OLDER boats.If you have multiple batteries and a ton of electrical add on like fans, stereos, lights, and refrigirator coolers this may not be big enough and you should upgrade to a larger alternator.Works fine for a basic inboard boat.

If you have a mercruiser 3.0 engine this should be a direct fit as it was on mine. This alt is excellent in quality and at the 90 some dollars, this is a fair buy without question. It was easy to install. Took about ten mins. It holds steady at 13.7v coming out of it to the battery. I will buy from this company again given the well built quality that this has demonstrated.

This fit my 1988 mercruiser 4.3 litre/lx. I hooked it up to the muffs to make sure it worked. Seems to work fine in the driveway. Still haven't tested on water yet.
