Jonathan Swim Mens Swim Briefs 3-inchI have been swimming daily in a chlorinated swimming pool for many (45+) years, swimming 3000 up to an occasional 10,000 yards a day, depending on the season. Also many 5K and mile open water swims.I have used the Speedo Endurance brief cut suit for most of that time, and this suit will be compared to the Speedo. Before that, I wore the Speedo spandex suit. When swimming in a chlorinated pool, spandex suits are only useful for about a month or two. In that space of time, the spandex loses all elasticity. Suits based on polyester such as the Speedo, and (hopefully) this Jonathan suit will hold up for months.Unfortunately, the suit did not arrive with an attached label or box that stated the materials used to make the suit. A check on the webpage showed that the suit is constructed of 55% PBT, and 45% polyester. This is an excellent combination for use in a chlorinated pool. The Speedo Endurance suit is made of the same materials, but with a higher percentage of polyester. This makes the Jonathan Swim, with higher PBT, a little “stretchier” than the Endurance, which makes it a little more comfortable on first wearing. The Endurance can be a bit stiff when worn the first few times.Neither of the suits contain spandex, so resistance to chlorine should be comparable. When put down side by side with the Endurance, I could tell no difference in the cut, except the Jonathan Swim suit is slightly fuller in the seat, and pouch, and stretchier in the waist band. The cord for tying the suit is thicker in the Jonathan, which is insignificant. The cost of the Jonathan suit is very competitive with the Speedo.I am going to recommend the Jonathan suit with a 5 rating. The fit and construction of the two suits is almost identical. The “feel” of the material of the two suits is similar, with the Jonathan suit seeming slightly softer, probably because of the different polyester mix.The test will be in the endurance against chlorine. I get 8 to 12 months from a carefully maintained Endurance suit used 5 days a week in the pool, and I expect a comparable wear from the Jonathan.I am impressed with this “generic” Speedo clone for quality of build and value for money.

I really like the cut of this suit. It's nice and minimal with coverage in all the right places. The internal drawstring is nice and tucks in neatly. The only negative is that the crotch area is very tight so it can be pretty uncomfortable on the junk and I'm not sure I can wear it long enough for it to be useful.
