First impression: I was really pleasantly surprised with the quality, from the rugged sole, to the thick leather, to the stitching, this boot is really well made. It has an honest to God old fashioned stitched on sole, so if you ever need to resole these babies you actually can. These compare favorably with some of my combat boots from 30, 40 years ago. Please note: these are pretty roomy, even when ordering your normal size. You’ll like want to add another sole insert and definitely wear some thick moisture wicking socks when using these boots.Update: Okay…these are still a good looking boot, but the fit is problematic. It’s a bit too roomy in the vamp, and although the green nylon gives the boot the appearance of a jungle boot it offers no real support to your ankle. In essence these are pretty much a pair of low cut leather loafers with a green nylon webbing sock sewn onto the top. You have to wear such heavy socks to make these fit somewhat comfortably that it defeats the purpose of a boot that is supposedly made for a hot climate. Due to the lack of support and the odd fit these would be totally unsuitable for hiking, or even a long walk. If you want a pair of cool looking boots and just plan on sitting around while wearing them, then by all means buy them. But if you plan on using them for work or hiking, you can find a pair of real army surplus hot weather/jungle boots at roughly the same price.

This review is for the Men's Combat Jungle Boots Waterproof Goodyear Military Work Boots For Men Non Slip Ankle Boots Black Tactical Motorcycle Boots Shoes Men.WOW! I am super impressed with these boots! Having lifelong experience with a vast array of leather equipment/gear for horses/dogs, clothing/boots, purses/backpacks/bags.. I can say for sure these are very good quality boots that punch way above their pricepoint! These are sharp looking too!I ordered these in size 7 in the black. I'm a woman with small narrow flat feet... and I appreciate quality when I see it! So yes I knew these were "mens" when I ordered them, so they're a tad big on me. But I have some nice insoles I can put in them to help with that. And I've gotten other "men's" boots that fit me fine. Sometimes ya don't know unless you try them. Diff brands fit differently and also depends what country they're made in.Every single part of this boot is very high quality, it's very well constructed, stitching is excellent upon close inspection and I would point out double sewn for the most part, finish excellent, good quality hardware, good thick strong laces, great outsole with an aggressive deep tread... The leather is fantastic and with the combo of the 1000D nylon and the goodyear welted outsole being stitched together... makes for a fantastic looking stylish boot that should stand the test of time as they protect your feet and cradle them in comfort!These have a full gusseted tongue to help prevent dirt/sand/debris from getting inside them. Inside I find them to be very roomy with a wide footbed and wide toebox. So if you have wide feet these should be good for you. These are waterproof too! But remember leather is a natural material and it breathes, so if your feet sweat these may also be a good choice for you. The insole doesn't have much of an arch to it, which is fine for my flat feet. But you may wish to use some good arch support insoles if you need them. I find them to be comfortable as far as the cushion goes.Attention to detail has been paid to every aspect in the making of these boots, and it shows in the final product!Regular price $ 69.99 per the listing, on sale $ 59.99, there's a 5% off coupon and another brand promo for 10% off! These WIDEWAY military style “Combat Jungle Boots” are an obviously heavy-duty design and build that is impressive the minute you take them out of the box.The leather uppers are made of thick cowhide and stitched together with strong nylon fabric along the sides of the ankle area. Advertised to have a “reinforced toe cap”, I did not see any claim to having an actual ASTM rating, so they may not qualify as “safety toe boots” under OSHA, but they are, in every way, certainly heavy-duty boots.The bottom outsole is an aggressively lugged pattern similar to many others and bears no specific brand name. It is a little softer and more “cushiony” than other boots I have owned, but I found it to be completely non-marking on both my tile and wood floors.Comparatively, the inner sole is not as soft as I would like, but since these boots are extra roomy inside, I can see plenty of space for an added orthotic or gel insert. As is, I do not feel that these have much of a supportive arch, but they have significantly more spacious toe box and bridge clearance than any boots I have ever owned. If using these in the extreme cold, I believe that they would easily accommodate an extra pair of socks without constricting the foot’s circulation.I have no reason to doubt that the advertised claim of a “Goodyear welt” is accurate, and as such, that makes the construction of these boots superior to the huge number of simply glued-on-sole “work” boots that litter the internet. Close examination of the stitching shows few if any loose threads and clean straight seams, indication careful construction.As they are not the company’s side zipper model, they are a bit more of a job to don and doff, but they feel protective and strong once properly laced. The laces are extra strong and tighten up easily due to a combination of eyelets, loops, and a pair of quick hooks at the top position.I expect these well-made, heavy-duty boots to serve me a long time in both work and for motorcycling, and their structure and materials instill confidence that they will live up to my expectations.
