Like many other reviewers, I was struck by the abhorrent odor of this cord. After washing it multiple times with dawn dish soap and hot water, it still smelled bad. Knowing that baking soda tends to absorb odor, and coffee beans can also help, I devised an airtight container of 1/4c baking soda and a handful of coffee beans. After adding satan’s stinky worms, I let the experiment sit for about a week. After that time the odor became tolerable, if tinged with coffee. Another wash with Dawn and voila! The cord is a functional addition to my knitting bag.

As a big girl, these make it really easy to try on knits in progress. The smell is bad. Imagine the way chemical sludge people fall into to become villains would smell like. That’s this.Works well though.

I needed to block an item that required seaming. Wet blocking would not work with the knitting needles in place. Using this item made wet blocking so easy. The tubing stayed on perfectly when pulling needles through the stitches.

Nice stuff but it can't take much heat before melting so be careful if soldering wire you covered turn your heat way down.

I got several colors to cover memory wire for the necklace. All of them smell horribly, and I was not able to get rid of smell leaving them out in the garage. I hope it goes away, if not - will have to throw it out.

I use this cord to transfer stitches off knitting needles, to hold them "live" for later working.Simply slide the needle tip into the cord about 3 mm and slip the stitches off, onto the cord. Slick as a whistle!! Slide the cord off the tip and your stitches are secure. Reattach the cord to the needle tip for loading the stitches back onto the needle. I have been knitting for 55 years and this cord has rocked my knitting world!
