From the Manufacturer
Distinctive in design - Bring the past together with the present in a way that's provocative and radiant. Good taste and superior quality never go out of style. Mayne mail posts install easily over a standard 4 by 4 wood post. Bury about 2-3-Feet in the ground and leave 4-Feet above the ground. Slide the decorative sleeve over the post, attach the paper holder arm to the post and then secure your mailbox of choice to the arm. Mailboxes can be bolted directly to this arm using a standard nut and bolt combination.

We purchased the Whitehall Capitol Mailbox and this was the photographed mail post to go with it. Guess what. They’re not compatible. The mailbox is too heavy for the PVC plastic support. Calling Mayne, they confirmed it’s too heavy and not compatible

We had this previously but it was pretty destroyed from Hurricane Ian. We got hit hard. The post stood up bit the bracket holding the mailbox was all cracked and broken.

It is impressive looking. But as they say “it looks good going by on a galloping horse.” I chose to modify the shelf length to accommodate my chosen mailbox. That was easy enough. I also discovered that if you cut the hole big enough in the bottom of the post it will fit over a railroad tie. The problem I have is the poor shape of the plastic shelf for the mailbox. I posted two photos so one can see how badly warped it is. But, it is the biggest one in the neighborhood.

While this post may just be plastic it looks much more expensive to passerby’s. We had apthe same one for 10 years. It survived sun, snow, and salt but be warned, it probably won’t survive a car. We had to retire our first mailbox post when the neighbor’s daughter hit it not once but two times which cracked the support and left our mailbox tilted downwards....which unfortunately isn’t a great feature for a mailbox. For it just being light weight plastic it really put up a good fight. In exchange for my mailbox damage I received several pieces of her red side panel and side mirror. Unfortunately our neighbors weren’t so neighborly when I confronted them with the damage. They didn’t believe it was their daughter who hit my mailbox even though she was missing a mirror and I was holding a matching one in my hand. Let’s hope round two lasts a while since she has now gone off to college!

Picture looks great. Product not so great. Looks like some kind of poor patch work on the inside edges. The price does not support the product. Go to the local hardware store instead. Bottom looks like it was cut out with a box knife. ( not even or square)

This post is exactly what I have wanted for years. It looks fabulous and I wish it were possible to upload a photo.I have a large house and yard, and have always had a jumbo-sized mailbox for packages and oversize envelopes. Several neighbors with smaller lots have the smaller sized posts available from the same manufacturer with standard size mailboxes, and they look good. But I did not want to give up my jumbo mailbox, and I also felt that the smaller posts just weren't substantial enough for my yard and house. My new Liberty Mailbox Post sleeve and bracket is white, and my daughter painted our old jumbo mailbox red. I installed white vinyl rub-on house numbers on the mailbox itself, that I ordered online. The font is quite round, and the letters are 5" high. The color combo of white and red is really great. We made several modifications to the installation because of other reviewers comments about lack of sturdiness:1) The instructions say to use a 4 x 4 post. We chose instead, to install a new 6 x 6 pressure treated post in concrete. We purchased an 8' long one and sank it about 3' into the ground. The remaining 5' above ground was a perfect height for the post. We enlarged the hole at the bottom of the post sleeve so the post would slip over easily.2) The instructions say to attach the bracket to the post and the mailbox to the bracket. In addition to that, we chose to slip some composite 1 x blocking behind the mailbox, between it and the post, and screw through the back of the mailbox and the blocking and the into the 6 x 6.The whole assembly is sturdy and striking. The post sleeve and bracket are lightweight and thin-walled, so it is the wood post that is the structural member. I highly recommend the two installation modifications above. It is detailed very nicely. The edges and corners are crisp and well-proportioned. From a distance of just a few feet it looks like it was constructed out of wood, which would have been very expensive and time-consuming, and would require regular caulking and painting. I think this will be low-maintenance - will just require a cleaning now and then. It has been up for weeks and we have received many compliments.

Just beautiful! We have the granite finish. Originally ordered the white from the manufacturer, but thought it looked very cheap (thus the 4 stars rather than 5). Really satisfied with the granite. It has a nice texture, making it look classy. We've notice several cars slowing down to look at it. The price is a little higher than it needs to be, but otherwise we're really pleased.

We've been making some updates to our house recently and our old mailbox was practically falling apart, so we thought we'd search for a new one. Nothing at Lowe's or Home Depot really interested us so we looked online and found that we really liked the Mayne mailboxes. We wanted a cool mailbox (the actual box, not the Mayne post) and it weighed more than some of the smaller Mayne models. So, we chose this one to support the mailbox we bought. When we received this post we thought it was huge for our smaller house. It was certainly bigger than any others in our neighborhood. But, we decided to install it anyway. It was pretty simple to install if you buy the ground screw for the wooden 4x4 you'll need inside. When we were done we looked at it from down the street and it is so amazing. It completely complements the white trim on our house (which was recently freshly painted). And it adds a touch of elegance that no one else on our cul de sac has. As soon as you pull on to our street you see it and it's...well, I can't say enough about this. We absolutely LOVE it!
