best quality vs price, used maxima in different strengths for many years, price a bit high for uae market, landed freshwater and saltwater fish of good size on this line

I've fished since I was 5 years old and I can remember my dad purchasing German made Maxima lines back then. And over the years, before the advent of fluorocarbon lines, Maxima was "the" fishing line to buy. It still is the line of choice for my needs when in applications where I can get by with monofilament. Buy this line if you do not require the advantages of fluorocarbon.

I've been using Maxima 2lb for over 10 years and never had a problem landing up to 7lb trout. It's all about drag!

I am using this to rig WWI model aircraft, so need very small diameter. Fits perfectly, lots on the roll for what I need. I also paint the line with laquer paints to replicate steel, it takes paint well.

Maxima Ultragreen has a well deserved reputation for strength and toughness. I don't disagree, its a great fishing line. It is, however, significantly larger in diameter than some other competing lines in the same LB Test category.I use Maxima Ultragreen a lot in backcountry Alaska. It doesn't replace fluorocarbon or ultra thin polymers for spring creek fishing.Good fishing everyone!

This monofilament is hands down better in abrasion resistance, shock absorption, invisibility, and knot strength. Those claiming otherwise aren't using their high dollar florocarbons in real world situations, but in the store or lab. On the water against literally hundreds of fish in the Everglades Backcountry my maxima ultragreen leader crushed my buddies high dollar floros in head to head competition over a 4 day trip. Why use more expensive lines that don't work as well?
