It would seem that the pump is defective and doesn't work. Between inclement weather and other issues it took a few weeks to install out in the driveway so returning it is not possible. Once installed the truck will not start as before. Checked all fuses and relays and all check out, but still won't start. I even replaced the fuel pump driver module but still no pump noise from the tank and no fuel pressure. Dropped the tank again and checked the power to the pump and it was fine, so that means junk pump.

The pump works. Great, gave me the pressure that I needed after the old pump went kaput. My truck has 270,000 miles on it and this was an original pump that it replaced so I’m pretty happy with the outcome.

I replaced the pump trying to find a leaking issue. The new pump functions fine, but the gas gauge is off by about a quarter of a tank.On another note. Based on some stuff I read online, the blue retaining clip was most likely my issue, and not the pump. I replaced both at the same time, and the clip does not come with the pump. I could put the old one back in, but have no desire to drop the tank again.
