Ordered a 10 pack to build a hoist system to store yayaks overhead. Perfectly adequate for this application, but not as free runninig as Blue Shark, Harken, or Ronstan blocks of same diameter sheave for marine applications.Fit up to 8mm - 5/16" double yacht braid perfectly as advertised. Pre-Mounted these blocks to an 8 foot piece of 5/4" decking board to make installation simple and stout. The 8', 5/4 deck board spans several roof joists for easy and secure overhead mounting.BEWARE: this rig replaces 2 bicycle storage hoists. They're junk. Several sheaves broke under extremely reasonable loads when line wedged between sheave and strap, and the caming cleat absolutely EATS even high quality yacht braid. For less money and nearly the same amount of time, you can make your own far superior hoist using these marine blocks. Add a reasonable wall mounted cam cleat at working height, you have a rig capable of lifting a kayak, bike or other less than 100lb load overhead for storage many cycles with no loss of integrity and less than 15-20 lbs force (including dynamic friction losses).

This great little block is made of great materials and well designed. It runs smoothly and has the weight capacity I needed in a new topping lift.

Use these pulleys for my wire antenna installations. Wanted something that wouldn’t have metal contacting the wire and disturbing the antenna performance. This clips on through carabiners and so far hasn’t had any corrosion or issues running the wire through it, despite being in a saltwater environment.
