I used a rebuild kit for my 2003 BMW 530i. The DISA valve was not in good shape, making the car run poorly. I purchased another rebuild kit with all plastic parts, as this type of kit is most common when searching. When attempting the rebuild the plastic bits were either the wrong size or poor quality. I found this kit contains metal components and a simplified installation. This went together very nicely and without any problems. I will be keeping this one marked if I ever need to do the job again down the road.

Installed the kit about 4 months ago, easy to install, not too complicated, don't drive the car very often, and it failed twice, cheaply made product, won't recommend, if not a DIY person you need to pay to the mechanic to install, so replacement after few months gets costly and time consuming

I actually only needed just the gasket and saved the other parts for future repair if needed. Just like someone mentioned, I drilled a hole through the top where the pin goes and pushed an "R" pin through. Works like a charm.

Perfect fit and install on my '02 530i. The flapper on mine was broken and had fallen apart. This was a perfect replacement and fit perfectly. Beware when removing the old one since the pin may fall out. There is also a small lock ring that is in the Disa frame that the pin goes through. If you lose that, you are buying a new Disa valve. I stupid glued the lock ring back into the frame and let it dry. Reassembled the flapper and the parts underneath. Dug out the old O-ring and inserted the new one. Here's another beware, when installing the Disa valve, the O-ring can roll over so the valve must be installed perfectly straight. Use a small amount of lube so that it slips in easily. Car now idles perfectly and no knocking noises anymore. Great bargain being able to rebuild the Disa valve rather than paying 5 or 6 times more for a new one.
