This silicone sheet was exactly as advertised. It is super thin, clear, and flexible. I noticed other reviews described it as stiff, but the description mentioned two layers of protective coating. When we first opened it it seemed to be stiff as well, but then we noticed that one side was slightly sticky feeling and looked closer at the corner. The second layer of protective coating is the stiff one. Once we got that separated it was correct. It was a little thinner than I thought, but that was on me since I didn't know how thick .2 mm was. For any application will you intend it to stay put it will probably be perfect. Might be prone to tearing if you have to move it a lot. Waiting to see how heat resistant it is to the grease splatters from the flat griddle.

This is not a rubber membrane. It is thin clear PLASTIC and has ZERO flex or give. I was expecting to fasten this over a control console that has various buttons that need to be pressed, but there is no give or stretch to allow for this to push buttons that need a good 1/8 to 1/4 inch of travel distance to be pressed. It would be fine over a flat, pressure type of button but NOT over real protruding type buttons.

I ordered this silicone membrane to cover my mechanical keyboard to prevent all those bits of paper and dust from accumulating. I keep it rolled behind the keyboard and pull it over when working with lots of paper products or staple removal. It is super thin and can be typed through while on the keyboard. I am sure it has other applications, but that was my purpose in purchasing it, and I am thoroughly pleased!2-month update: after laying the sheet over my keyboard once a day (rolling it back when not in use) the sheet has ripped on one side. It was not near any sharp objects, nor was it caught in anything or even folded. I am not sure why it suddenly had a large tear but I'm not sure I will order this one again.
