So yeah the tool works because is very centered and you can drill the bolts without leaning to one side causing to damage the thread. The extractor that comes with the kit doesn't work at least for me so I ended up using the one I have showing in the Pic. The second bolt basically was welded inside the hole so the extractor didn't work. The 17/64 drill and guide don't work because it's to big and can damage the head thread so what I did is start eating the bolt with the 1/8 guide and drill then the 3/16 and after that I just use the drills from 3/16 up to 1/4. When I was at 1/4 the drill is gonna cut exactly the bolt and leave the thread intact at this point metal shaving start coming out revealing the thread. So please make yourself a favor and don't use the 17/64

Had 4 broken 6.0 powerstroke exhaust manifold bolts and was by far the easiest set up, use and extraction of broken manifold bolts I have ever done. Highly recommended

Drill bits are cheap same as the extractor, this kit doesn't come with the 1.25 tap. Don't recommend using the extractor it will end up breaking and leaving a mess. Just go all the way and use the tap. Also, i THINK this tool was designed to use with the engine out or the cab raised. it is not much room for a drill with the engine on the truck. Good idea but the price is too high for what you get.I recommend buying good quality short drill bits and being careful not to lose the bushing

Most amazing tool for removing broken exhaust bolts. This tool works like a champ made removing broken exhaust bolts in chassis possible. I have one of these tools for just about ever make of truck out there. With out them you would have to pull cylinder heads to do what these tools do.

I am a Ford diesel mechanic, I’ve had issues with the bolts breaking in heads on 6.0 6.4 for years. Normally we sublet to a mobile bolt extractor for an exorbitant amount of money (800 dollars to show) he retired.I had a very good welder try and weld a nut on with no luck the hole was doomed!!! Ran across this tool it was everything they promised, worked like a charm. It does however come with poor quality drill bits. I ran to Home Depot and purchased 3 of all the required bits (one for each hole that was damaged) these bolts are hardened and will destroy your bit one time use for sure.

Good and helpful aid but you still need to be careful. Drill bits a good but there are better ones out there. The guides are also good And definitely better than nothing but you can still drill crooked. I think the better application would be in the head is on your workbench. The key is proper cutting speed a sharp drill bit. If working on the vehicle and and buying replacement drill bits you need to find screw machine length bits. Also cobalt bits a a cobalt blend throughout, not just a coating so cobalt bits can be sharpened. I’m not a machinist and a machinist would be able to explain better. In my application I had three broken stainless steel bolts. None of them could be extracted and I tried a few different brands of extractors. Sounds like more negativity than not but, Overall I’m glad I got this but I did expect a little more from it.
