What is Radon?
Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that comes up from the ground, odorless, colorless, tasteless. It is most easily released through granite, brick sand, cement and gypsum etc., especially natural stone which contains radioactive elements.
What Are the Dangers of Radon?
Radon can be inhaled into the lungs, damaging human health. Expert research shows that radon is the most important factor causing lung cancer apart from smoking, and the World Health Organization has listed radon as one of the 19 major environmental carcinogens.

I used this monitor while visiting a new home I was planning to purchase. Our area is notorious for radon gas and no complicated setup is needed. User manual needs improvement. I found it to be good value for money as it is easy to use, portable, has a clear display and provides peace of mind. Overall, I'm glad I bought this radon detector. It gives me more peace of mind and protects my family.

So far everything tested ok. The only thing I couldn't do is verify based on a high tech actual measurement so I am leaving it to the meter to be at least close to accurate at the least. Follow the instructions and it should work fine. I like this for being able to check on my own more frequently than I'd want to pay someone to come in and do. They generally just drop their little radon packets off and come back for them so paying for that never really set well for me. This is a nice option.

I have two other radon detectors that I know are accurate and show broadly similar results for radon. I bought this one to add to another room in the house, but before using it I reset one of my other ones and placed them both in the same place for 24 hours to make sure the new one is accurate.After doing this the LifeBasis detector's readings read wildly differently and much higher than my other two so I do not believe it's accurate at all. I've returned it.

I decided to get this radon monitor because I have been concerned with recent news stories about high levels of radon in people's houses nearby me.I had tried to order and use a cheap analog test, but it required receiving a bag in the mail, setting it up, and returning it in a specific period of time. I wasn't able to return it in the time window and it ended up being a waste of time.With this solution I get a monitor that lives at my house and I can check it anytime. I'm much happier with this.

Still building trust in this meter. It appears to vary a lot with changes in barometric pressure.Do not expect the first reading after power up in under 12 hours.
