I used this pattern book to create a Celtic afghan for a gift. The stitches are are complex. but not really difficult. They do require concentration. Not something to do while watching TV. The directions were clear. Good photo support. I liked seeing the afghans shown in colors other than the traditional whites.I created my own design by combining panels shown in more than one pattern. These afghans are worked lengthwise in continuous panels - not separate panels joined when complete. Not exactly an easily portable project.. But the finished work is quite striking.I would recommend these patterns for an intermediate skill level or better. Prepare to be challenged and willing to rip out when you make a mistake. Choose a yarn that will allow that.
