My son loves ramen noodles but is not aloud to use the stove. This bowl is great. it allows him to make them on his own using the microwave. Water does boil over out of it but that might just be us putting too much water in it. The package didn't have any instructions so we were just winging it.

After 3 attempts at cooking ramen in this noodle cooking kit, my grandson finally got it right. He was disappointed that there were no instructions in English (instructions were in Chinese on the outside of the box). But after figuring out the process, he loved the results!

My 9 year old grandson loves ramen noodles for a snack after school. Without having to depend on an adult to boil the water and cook the noodles, he can prepare it himself with this neat little microwave bowl. He puts in the noodles, then adds water to the full line, and cooks in the microwave for 5 minutes. All he has to after the noodles have cooked is lift up the strainer section and dump the noodles in the provided bowl. He is really enjoying his independence in the kitchen!

A simple, straightforward design that works as described. The only flaw is the diameter: It's a half-inch too small. An uncooked block of Maruchan noodles barely fits into the draining bowl insert.

I absolutely love this bowl! Very easy to use with Ramen or any noodles. You simply put the ramen in the bowl and fill up the water to however much amount you want. Cover it, put it in the microwave. The inside Bowl comes out and drains so, then you can add however much water you want. It also came with a fork, a spoon and chopsticks. It's perfect! Fast shipping and very good quality. Dishwasher and of course, microwave safe.

I thought this would make the noodles boil/heat up faster but its the same as getting a ceramic bowl and covering it. You also need to always have the strainer in or the top will sink/fit... prevents you from adding more water to submerge your noodles fully. Anyway.. save your money.

I do like this product and have found it to be useful when making instant ramen or instant mi goreng for one. I don't have to heat up boiling water on the stove or kettle, I can just heat up the uncooked noodles in the microwave and strain it out right away in 3-4 minutes. However, my main issue with the product is its size. It can only cook one portion of instant ramen at a time (so, one square packaging of instant ramen) which means if cooking 2 or more portions, it's probably faster to make on the stove. I even have to break the ramen in half on the fold so everything is submerged under the fill line. The chopsticks that come with the microwave ramen cooker is way too short (it's child sized and roughly formed plastic) and even the top bowl does not fit the entire one portion of ramen, so either you eat your one portion of ramen one bowl at a time (2-2.5 bowls max), or, you eat it out of the largest compartment.Another issue for me is the handle on the largest compartment. It is very flexible and is not sturdy (especially just after microwaving.) If the large compartment is full of water/broth/ramen noodles, the handle is not strong enough to carry the entire weight without the risk of the handle breaking off. I end up using a couple of towels to hold the entire contraption when transferring out of the microwave.Cleaning the bowls by hand is easy, however, I don't think that the microwave ramen cooker is dishwasher safe (at least it doesn't say so on the box.)Suggested improvement are:1. Having 2 handles to balance and hold the weight when full2. That the cooker allows for 2 portions of ramen to be cooked at once3. That the upper bowl is large enough to fit one portion of ramenSince the product is expensive ($23), I can't say that you would be getting your money's worth. But, if you're an instant ramen fanatic that only eats one portion at a time this may be the product for you. It's a good invention/idea and definitely a faster way of cooking instant ramen, but it definitely needs a lot of tweaks to make it more user friendly and worth the money.
